He literally did nothing besides the penalties. Took his penalties well but he didn't close down, he didn't pick out any passes, he didn't win the ball back he just stood there waiting for the ball yet he's walking off with a hat trick. Bizarre.

That's Kane though, does little outside the opposition box - no doubting he's excellent at that but I suspect he's not much help when your team is under the cosh.

If it's just one mention then fair enough. But it seems like every comment, especially by Shearer, has to mention his lack of goals. It's tedious and I am entitled to comment on it. Bear in mind, he was doing an immediate post-match summary of a fantastic ALL ROUND performance by England. In the right context, it's a fair criticism of Raheem in an England shirt, but to home in on one player only and to draw attention to him is, as I say, tedious.

You don’t get the matchball for closing down a defender three times
