On RTÉ Ronnie Whelan is Absolute dogshit with his dub/scouse accent always willing to applaud that 5 yard square ball by Henderson or any other dipper. It's even worse when 'Arland' are playing in the aviva. Best one by a country mile is Brian Kerr. Very insightful, no agenda and uses a language you'd hear down the pub

Agree. Ian Wright is passionate but clueless about the tactical side. Dixon is decent but quite beige. Neville is good. The commentators though...my god. Hoddle just doesn't have any internation in his voice and they love to curse the team with stupid comments. The BBC is far better because you have Linekar asking poignant questions and getting decent opinions back. The passion he has, and Shearer too, compared to Rio shows why that "golden generation" did fuck all.

Watched them last night and tend to agree. However, what a fucking year Keane is. From saying Croatia are shit at Half time and England will slaughter them ( truth being we played well and they struggled to get any Rythmn into their game) to providing absolutely no analysis or understanding of the game. It’s frightening to know he was a manager- he’s in the dinosaur age. Dixon is not impressive either.
As for Pougatch- he’s a twat with his smugness and clearly led by a media narrative. Lineker is so much better as he understands the game
