Watching Sky Sports News tonight and they pointed out that the last time we had anywhere near as poor a points tally as this season was in 2000. (Last season we had 29 and lay in forth with virtually the same squad, except the 75 million quids worth of improvements we have now)

Does anyone remember what happened at the end of the 2000/01 season?

I also recall at the time, people telling me, "don't worry, we won't go down". Now then, still not worried?

Queue the "Give him more time, he's building a squad, we won't go down, wait till January"....blah blah blah bollocks.

Edit, I think it was 17 points we had in 2000. Here is how it ended up:

Final Premiership Table, 2000-01

And we weren't the richest club in the world that year with bucketloads of cash to spend in Jan.

And there lies the problem. Just because we have cash means we are immune to relegation. What a load of complete fucking bollocks. That's why people on here want him to stay, they think that a magic wand will be waved in January and all the problems go away. Your naivety is fucking frightening. The best we can hope for in January is him bringing in a few ankle kickers that like him and will grind a 1-1 out for him with the occasional win. I thought we had more ambition than that. You blinkered sods fucking well infuriate me, you really do.

Doom and fucking gloom merchants like you, do my fucking head in.

So all even then.

I come on here to read gossip and used to have light hearted banter, but now it is just slag slag slag.

It make's people defend hughes more and certain players, when they get sick of reading the same shite, they then spring into action with a fan's reply.

Big phil was shite, now he has scored 2 in 2 he should be starting.

Last year Ireland what a load shite get rid, now he's superman.

If ten people turn on a player you get ten others that will back him blind just to fuck the moaners off etc.

It becomes a crap read day in day out, probably like this post but hey ho.

The doom and gloom merchants sits in a big blue chair at COMS pal. It is negative on here because we are staring down the fucking barrel. Don't blame me for that, I don't pick the sides and manage the players. I have little to criticise the players for and rarely do, it's not the players that are playing themselves out of position is it? It's not the players deciding to play the long hopeful ball to the shortest strike force and midfield in the premiership is it? Is it any wonder the players are against him....no....he is ruining their careers, just just his own.

So in summary, when I have something worthy of cheering, I'll cheer.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating... relying on Jan to get us out of trouble is pure folly.
