Would You Keep Fern At Centre Half.....

I think we could see walker and stones centre back partnership together very soon .

Absolutely no chance.

Ota is a shoe in now.

It's a combination of Stones/Dinho and potentially Walker for who gets to partner him imo.

Given John and his recent injury record I would suggest it's likely to be our bald Brazilian, with Kyle picking up some bits.

A consequence of Laporte’s injury is that Otamendi now needs to be treated with kid gloves. As much as he appears to be made of titanium and wishes to play every game, one of Stones, Walker, or Fernandinho is going to have to shift to the left at some point, partly because Otamendi needs to be rested and partly because someone will have to feel more comfortable playing on that side should anything happen to El Generalissimo, or should he pick up a suspension. Now, that rotation could happen in League Cup games or it could happen via tactical substitutions in matches where we are comfortably ahead. However, either way, it may indirectly affect the playing time youngsters such as Garcia and Foden receive. Of the three, I suspect Fernandinho would be more flexible and able to play there, but he’ll need to be used there in real games to see.

Yip.The centurion season he was used every game because of injury until tiredness set in and he lost form at the tail end of the season.
Has Garcia not been sent out on loan or is it another Garcia.
Strange if it is the central defender Garcia.

Alexia Garcia, the central midfielder, has gone to Royal Excel Mouscron, but Eric Garcia, the central defender, has been kept at the club. With Sandler and Adarabioyo also out on loan, Eric Garcia effectively becomes heir apparent in Laporte’s absence, though with Fernandinho and Walker touted as replacements, we’ll have to see how Guardiola utilises all of them.

The thing with losing key components of the team and shuffling the pack is that it makes injuries to other players even more unsettling. For example, an injury now to Walker, Fernandinho, or Rodri, but to name three, would have an impact on more than one position. We have to hope that those out on international duty return unscathed.

I think we may see a change in shape due to this injury.

3-5-2 or 5-3-2 whichever way you look at it.

three CB's - Choice from Stones or walker with Otta and Fern

RW/RWB - Cancelo/Bernardo

LW/LWB - Mendy/Zinch

CM - Rodri, Gundo, Bernardo, Silva KDB, Mahrez

ST - Jesus, Aguero, Sterlin

Especially in some of the tight games when have a back four or Walker Otta Fern and Zin might need a bit more protection.

Could see him line up with Fern and Rodri in CM with Fern dropping back into a back 3 and the wing backs pushing on

not worried about Fern playing CB against the likes of Brighton ETC (no disrespect)
