Would you report your neighbour

If you thought they were a benefit cheat. Woman works 16hrs with 1 child 6 year old, the father only shows up on his birthday and Xmas, I think he pays cash for him otherwise legit he would want access to his son.also only working 16 hrs allows her all sorts of claims for financial help.holidays to Florida last year and wants for nothing.
If it’s as lucrative as you think, crack on and get claiming.
Spoiler Alert. It’s not..

I bought a girl the other week a tent, her's had been burnt out on the canal. I came back with a new one and some fleece stuff. Poor girl was called Lisa and she was fucking freezing begging outside Sainsburys in Sale.

A chocolate shortbread, a large hot chocolate and a steak bake from Greggs.

The lot set me back about £100 and she started crying and said I didn't need to do that.

I really didn't have it, but people were just walking past her. I have a young daughter of my own and would hope someone would extend her a kindness if she was in tough times.
Should have grassed her up mate. No doubt she’s getting £2000 a day begging, like the rest of them!

As an ex benefit fraud investigator over many years neither do I.

Background......Anyone who is reported will be 'scored' on info received and checked out.

If and only if it's felt there's a case to answer will the customer know anything about any investigation.

If she's failing to declare work/savings that'll ping pretty quickly on checks and are straightforward cases, it's things like living with a partner which is a greyer area.
Imagine doing your job. One step removed from a traffic warden

Snitches get Stitches. If its not impacting on your life in anyway shape or form then leave her to it. Plus, you don't know her real circumstances, she could have money in bank from any honest means like inheritance, shares etc.

strange take, would you not report a nonce or some you knew raped a person?

would have thought most people would for such vile crimes

Also I have lived next to people who argue like fuck before but never felt the need to report them, if they were getting hospitalised by their partner though I probably would think about it

On the OPs point though, how the fuck do you know if someone is defrauding the DSS and if you do you are more likely close enlugh to either not care or agree with their reasons

You’re missing my point, we all would grass them up based on things we don’t agree with. Let’s say we start by saying we’d report anyone we knew broke the law. Then someone says what if you knew they’d been speeding? Ok not then, but what about drink driving? Ah yes I’d report them… what about a bit of cash in hand work? Nah they’re alreet…what even if it was a £20k job? Oh no I’d grass them up then.

The point is it’s subjective, one persons “crime” is another’s “good on ‘em”, we act as judge and jury when we start deciding who we report based on what we think constitutes a crime worthy of reporting. We would all apply our own personal morals not the letter of the law. Those morals aren’t just about wrong or right but also about reasoning - of which the law is free from.

Not sure why the OP started a thread on it, it’s for them to wrestle with the choice. I’d only say that the motivation seems to be jealousy (florida holiday) and there isn’t any hard evidence to support the allegation.

Top top man. If we all did a fraction of what you did and took a little care of each other the world would be a much better place.

Even the cleaners are on £20 per hour.
Presumably theyll be self employed. No sick pay, no hol pay etc etc.

Even cleaners are allowed to earn a living
Quite right, why should an employer pay someone when they are on the 'sick'. The dust will still be there when the work shy woman realises there is no spam in the cupboard.

Fuck me, when you see what all MP's and the like get away with and say nowt about it but want to have a go a a poor girl trying to do right by her kids, go fuck yourself.

Hypothetically, what if she’d been stealing from the charity boxes, or scamming grannies, to “do right by her kid”… same? Poor girl and all that?

You could be describing my eldest who has 3 kids on her own.
She has a car, she went to Florida last year - how does she afford that while not working?
Easy. My mum passed away and me and my brother gave my daughter our mum's car.
I paid for her and the kids to come to Florida last year.
From the outside it would be easy to think she's shafting the system when the reality is she hasn't spent a penny.
Close the curtains and concentrate on your life.

Some people are undoubtedly on the take but If I were the OP I'd focus on the important things in life and leave the woman be... IF she was doing something underhand then it'll catch up with her eventually regardless of what he does or doesn't do
