Neither is André Silva. Which is why my post starts by saying that if we’re going down in the food chain to consider Silva, we should consider this one too.

His link up play isn’t up to the standard required though, I don’t believe.

If it is true that we are considering “the cheap option” André Silva for the striker, I have to ask why not also consider Wout Weghorst, from Wolfsburg (which finished ahead of Frankfurt in the Bundesliga), an even cheaper option. Bundesliga numbers: 34 games, 20 goals, 9 assists. Only two of those goals from penalties. He’s 28 and has practically no injury history (https://www.transfermarkt.com/wout-weghorst/verletzungen/spieler/228645). His positioning is very good, he’s taller than even Haaland.

Had a touch of wout last night after a dodgy tika. Thank weghorst it’s didn’t last :)
