WW1 medal finding family of owner

Interestingly Jackson was afforded an official Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) headstone despite dying after he'd been discharged the previous year. For this reason he doesn't appear on the official listing of Soldiers Died In The Great War (SDGW) a digital copy of which I have.

I seem to recall my grandad talking about staying at a convalescent home in Colwyn Bay. He was in the Manchester reg too.
My dad once told me grandad gave his war medals to him when he was very young and he lost them in the garden somewhere. He lived at either Manipur street or Oliver street in the Openshawe/Bradford area.
I always wonder if anyone ever found them.

For some reason this medal was in a little box with my dad's medals from WW2 and I have absolutely no idea how my dad got hold of it he may even have found it as a kid.

Talking of medals, I have my Dad’s WWII medals and my Grandad’s WWI medals. Both require putting on a bar and the latter could do with the ribbons renewing. Does anyone know where this can be done at a reasonable cost?

I get mine done at Mckays Kilts and Medals. There’s a lot of cowboys out there in relation to medal mounting, this guy is the real deal. Might seem a bit pricey but as they’re your Dad’s and Grandad’s you probably won’t be having to add to their racks so you won’t be forking out in the future.
