Wythenshawe Hospital

Taking my mate to visit his mum at Wythenshawe Hospital this afternoon.

Got a lift there, but need to make our own way back to the City Centre. Without going into too much detail, public transport's a bit of a nightmare.

Does anyone have any local cab numbers and approximate prices. Just been quoted "about £17" by Wythenshawe Taxis. Is this about right or a bit steep?

Why not get a cab to the airport then get a train?

on their site they're saying £22 to the city centre so it sounds like the right ballpark.

The 11 bus goes to Altrincham, you can jump on that and then get the met or the 263 in to town.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Looked at going via Gatley, but service not too regular and nowt to do for 1/2 hour if we miss a train.

Airport service is more regular, but where I live in North Manchester cab drivers usually stick at least a fiver on as soon as you mention "Airport".

Thought about the 19 bus to Sale, then the Met into town.
Thinking it might be a bit chocca with Utd playing tonight?

Sure the 109 goes to town from the hospital?

get the 179 from the hospital,to wythenshaw then pretty much any bus will take you to town all for £3.70

Got the 109 last time. Put years on my life. It took over an hour and a woman ran over my mate (who's visually impaired) foot with the biggest kids pram I've seen in my life. Vowed never to get that bus ever again.

Might just bite the bullet and get a cab.

Cheers Simmers. They just quoted me £14 to anywhere in the City Centre.
Settle for that.
