x box or ps3

Promised my lad a console for xmas,but was just wondering which one you would think is best for him,he is only 5 but keeps banging on about one..all comments much appreciated

I always say PS3 is the more mature gamers console of choice.
Xbox's are what school kids and spotty little freeloading students have.

Your lad is in neither category! ;-)

What about a little handheld, a DS or something?

For a 5 year old i would say xbox with kinect,great family fun

For a 5 year old they are both pretty much the same as far as gaming for a child goes....

The PS3 would probably be more ideal as the pads are more suited, well unless your lad has unusually large hands for a 5 year old that is...

Most people would suggest the wii but they become very tiredsome and eventually the novelty starts to wear off after 6 months... Also if you wanted your kid to stand in front of the T.V waving his arms about I'm sure you could easily find a cheaper option then buying a Nintendo wii...

PS3 for the win.

Oh also the PS3 have Playstation Move which looks awesome and far better and more responsive then the wii

Yea, an handheld device is probably more suited for a 5yr old, or a Wii?

But which is best?
Technically the PS3 but for enjoyment I prefer the 360.

Argos are doing a deal on PS3's at the moment, saving £140.
PS3 + 4 games for £259.95

Playstation 2 if your a bit strapped for cash, dont think peer pressure will make him an outcast at 5 yo, cheap games.

Playstation 3 if you want to make him s uber self obsessed shiny shiny merchant. with cash being no object.

Xbox 360 with Kinnect if you want reasonable priced all round machine with the best game support.

3ds looked good when i tried a tester in a game shop, but at 5 yo it could find itself flying against a wall.

PS3 has all that apart from SKY player but I suppose it makes up with the built in wi-fi and blu-ray
