XFL Football

If they want to make it more interesting and competitive why not follow the CFL and make the field longer, wider and have three downs instead of four?
Make it about the sport and not just a vehicle to sell advertising space.

Or televise moose fucking instead?

Struggling to get into it, will try again this weekend but have to say some of the rules are crap especially the two forward passes

So i gave this a go last night watching half of the new york game (the fox coverage from a strem site, not sure what BT do with it).

I liked the fox coverage - seemed quite genuine and they were talking up the stories of the players all mostly fringe NFL guys who had done well in collage and just hadn't got a look in with a pro team.
The game seemed a lot like a collage game, faster and a bit more ragged than the NFL machine where every play is executed down to the number of steps every player takes. The crowd was a bit sparse for a massive stadium - I wonder how they are dealing with it. The smart move would be to go cheap and get bums on seats but this will not be cheap to put on.

you know those guys who go on dragons den who dismiss the advice of the dragons??

It’s a passion McMahon clearly can’t let go... now if he could get some NFL accreditation, that’s a different story, however, the lack of long term commercial investment will see its demise like the first outing!

You did think as you watched it how this works financially - i guess the TV money must be enough to make it worth a go.

For the most part the game is the same - i didn't see anyone try a double forward pass. I'd like to see how it works. If it was exactly the same i might have less interest.
