The "we need to think strategically about this" was a reference to the front office. Not you.

By the way, until the last 2 Months, most didn't think Yaya could play this role. Necessity was simply the mother of invention here.

Yes, but he's been given a chance and taken it.
Your buzz words are all find and dandy, but the word strategic is purely subjective here.

He would never go to a mid table team here, his ego wouldn't allow him,i wouldn't want to have him line up against us for any other team here either
I think we might just give him another year if he would accept a lower wage,he certainly won't get anywhere near his current wages anywhere else in the prem so he might as well stay here if he gets that option

I think he'd looked dreadful in a midtable side. He'd need the whole team built around him.
He's excelling currently because my passing game could find Silva and the runs off our advanced players. Finding Troy Deeney or Wilf Zaha with McCarthey or Behrami doing his running may dilute his qualities a little.

Perhaps. It's the way I see it. I think long term, letting Yaya move on is the best decision. We are lucky he is playing this well at this age. We shouldn't push that luck, and should look to the future without fear.

As I've said, it will all depend our primary targets, their age and their positions.

1year extension. He can still play. No other player of his stature in the world. Still the best at what he does.

Give him 5 days off after tonight. The most influential player of HRH The Sheik's era.

I imagine his change in attitude, fitness and performance is driven partly by his desire to secure an incredibly lucrative move to a new club whilst picking up any bonuses available on the way out. Not sure it will be maintained next season if he stayed.

I would certainly give him a years extension. I wouldn't bother penny pinching with his wage either - if he continues to operate at 'best in world' at what he does, the club should just make sure some of it is based on appearances to ensure his motivation doesn't drop. I am absolutely over the moon at seeing him so influential, positive and motivated - we haven't seen that in a couple of years.

This is a sad view to have. And says more about you than it does Yaya. :(
