Yaya Toure apologises

I love the stance Pep has taken, about time we didn't put up with his twat of an agent. But I honestly the team has surpassed what Yaya could contribute now, I don't think he suits our high intensity style of play now, so I am happy that we choose the players who will advance our side.

Not the point. Toure and his agent should of had their mouths shut years ago, pep did it previously and has just done it again. Schweinsteiger has nothing to do with this, this is personal to city. The club pays a fortune for him to score goals and do your job but the fans decide whether you become a city legend. this era has plenty of them who have worked their balls and broke their bodies down for the cause and toure ain't one of them.
You've missed the discussion we were having.

Really? You don't think Toure worked his balls off?

The guy will be a City legend to me, absolutely no problem whatsoever. I personally don't give a shite what his agent has said, and I have absolutely no idea why anyone cares. The club has now given the tit a voice, and there will be plenty of journalists out there happy to print his nonsense. Personally I'd just ignore the moron, and give absolutely zero response to anything he says - always the best way to deal with people like him, take away his voice.

A load of rambling nonsense Dax. I really don't care if he does apologise or not. He is done at city far too slow these days to play anything more than a bit part. Pep is just voicing the opinion of the majority who are sick and tired of Yaya and his agent. Would I rather it had all ended differently of course I would but the glory days are gone now and it's time he hit the road hopefully in January but with your encouragement perhaps he will sit on his arse for another six months.
No its not rambling nonsense FP,a lot of sense there.and it is simply great timing for Pep to cover his own fuck up by commenting on the chumps league attendance by giving the fringe player and his agent a public dressing down.using the media to your advantage after your last comment stank the place out.
I have no sympathy at all for yaya.his agents a knob.., and we all know both were plotting to leave at a time that suited them.
However,the important thing is ,as an earlier poster said...it doesn't, t affect our first team,so I couldn't, t give a fuck.
Just wary of showmen who are clever with spinning...

I think toure is a better player than 99% of the league but never appeard to work hard, players constantly running past him proved that. Toure is a great player and did a lot for us and was paid in bags full of cash for what he did!!! The guy didn't score those goals for the love of city he did it for the cash believe it or not and once again is only considering his own position.

Just in case anyone wants to hear Seluk's phone call on SkySports. Funnier than I thought it would be. He sounds senile.

"Let's forget about Joe Hart for a second because you don't represent him." Fair play, Jim.

Wow, what a cluster fuck that man is. Thanks for posting that, I would have missed it. No way back for Yaya. Cant see him even training with the first team squad after that unless he publicly distances himself from Seluk. Thought Jim White was pretty good though although it pains me to say it. Pep has done what others should have done during the birthday cake affair. Hope the fallout will be brief and then we can move on. Yaya has done a lot for the club, but the club has done a lot for Yaya. Pity his legacy will now always be tarnished by the actions of his idiot agent and his weakness in dealing with him.

Cakegate came on the back of toures superb championship winning season when toure was a big asset to the team, hence why he was indulged.now he is no use to the team its far easier to take a harder stance

Yes, I agree. Much more difficult to do when he was arguably our most valuable asset. Still, the club should be bigger than anyone player and by not dealing with it rigorously, we probably created an environment where player power was indulged too much to be healthy. Still, can't rewrite history, and there is no doubt now that the expectations of player behaviour are being set very high and will be enforced.

Player power was already well established before then as it was the players that gave them the ultimatum Mancini goes or we do

Yaya is probably one of the 5 best players ever to play for Manchester City.....that in spite of him always turning up at the start of the season overweight and out of shape.......giving 70% at best and normally 50%.......putting his International career before his City career. A legend most definitely but imagine how good he could have been if he'd have given his all.

Yaya is equally at fault for not shutting up or sacking his agent years ago when he first opened his big mouth about his paymasters.....Yaya is selfish and only ever really puts his own interests first.......his retirement announcement suggest he'll be off in January.......good luck Yaya....shut TFU.....and close the door on your way out !

I think Pep hit Yaya twice:

1- When Seluk criticise Txiki over Fernando's deal ( dropped Yaya from CL list)
2- When Seluk attack Pep's decision not to include Yaya in CL list ( Dropped completely from all games )

At the end their relationship is weird, you don't know if Seluk work for Yaya or Yaya work for Seluk !

Yaya's agent is clearly a tit of the highest order, but if it is true that the first Yaya heard of this is through the press conference I am not impressed by Pep's/ City's response.

I'm sure the club were willing to let Yaya go in the summer, and I'm equally sure that there were many offers on the table.

So what stopped him? It surely wasn't anything to do with having to take a wage cut, was it?

Real shame that Yaya and his agent let it come to this. A legend tarnished.

Pretty much this.

If Messi's agent said something when Pep was at Barcelona no way would Pep take this stance.

Baconface always had the cajones to kick old aging past their best players out. Scholes refused to play and Shrek/Camelgob held the rags to ransom but Baconface didn't kick them out.

Ultimately if you are surplus to requirements as a player it's easier to make this stance.

Whilst it is great that someone has come out and stood up to Seluk and even better that it's Pep. It's much easier to do it with Yaya being 33 and in the last year of his contract. I doubt if he was the 2014 Yaya that we would be saying he is not playing until his agent apologises.
What a top class stupid fucking post.

So sad, yet it has to be done.
If the manager says "Jump" the only permissable response is "how high boss"?
Thanks for the memories Yaya. Sadly for 2 seasons now the team effort has not been there.
