The agent speaks for Yaya. That is his job. Yaya could have stopped him, apologised, sacked him, spoken. The fact is that Yaya has said nothing and done nothing (in public) about this bizarre fiasco. rather, Yaya has continued to let himself be the butt of a joke that the whole world, and not least City fans, have enjoyed.

That is why there is no benefit of the doubt to give. Yaya is being disrespectful by omission whilst his agent is disrespectful - and downright odious - by commission.

He's guilty of being thick and unthinking but ALL players are like that.

He's not done anything yet to deserve some of the reactions on here.

He passes as intelligent in the footballing world, he proves every point, he's a thick as pig shit scouse twat but within football he's one of the more endowed minds.

Fair enough, there are quite a few people who have contributed to this thread who don't think Yaya should have to take responsibility for the things a man he employs as his public representative says in his name. Personally, I don't think that view stands up to much scrutiny but everyone is entitled to their opinion on what has happened.

They aren't men and employees, they're footballers and agents, they operate in their own bubble of shit. None of them have any honour, why should Yaya?

As for the Kompany question, yes he seems intelligent and decent but I'm quite sure if he gets unhappy at any point he'll be off, footballers and rock n roll bands are things you should never put too much faith in.

I don't agree that they all operate in their own bubble of shit though or that none of them have any honour. Some do some don't and to different extents.

He's had 3 days now to come out with some bullshit about how it was all a misunderstanding. I think it's safe to say Yaya agrees with his gobshite of an agent.

How do you know that he hasn't already put the record straight with the club? Or does he have to post it on here too?

Oh, and why didn't you have an issue with Yaya last year when his agent said similar things?

The disrespectful remarks were made publicly so it isn't unreasonable to expect any apology or setting the record straight to be pubic also. As far as the comments last year, I'm sure plenty of people weren't over the moon about them but as far as I am aware they weren't as disrespectful. For instance, I'm fairly sure there was no implictaion that Sheikh Mansour was trying to buy relationships etc last summer. I might be wrong though, I can't recall exactly what was said last year.

No, he didn't say anything about buying relationships but there was enough in his comments to see that it was another swipe against the people that own and run the club.

I'm far from convinced that Yaya tells Seluk to say these things - far more likely that Yaya has a minor issue and Seluk blows it all out of proportion. He's got a history of launching withering attacks on whatever club Yaya is playing for at the time. It's not helpful of course, and it does seem like an unlikely friendship between them but for whatever reason Yaya is clearly close to him.

There are exceptions yeah but generally I don't expect much from any of them in the way of loyalty.

I accept there's a difference in the ways some go about things, you'd hope for example that if Kompany ever wanted out he'd be a bit more subtle and respectful than say Rooney or Gerrard but this is football and things generally are quite underhanded.

I'm not convinced he told Seluk to say exactly what he said either. I think that is more or less irrelevant tbh. By hiring the bloke it means the things are effectively said in Yaya's name and if he doesn't like what is being said he needs to say so, otherwise he has to accpet that people will hold him responsible. I'm fairly sure this will blow over and that he will more than likely still be at the club next season but make no mistake if there is no public apology or at least a public declaration that the comments weren't said in his name then it will stick in the craw a bit.

He is a City player still and I hope that continues. Too much precious hurt feelings about these days and this is just another example IMO.

He hasn't done anything directly to hurt us so give him the benefit of the doubt I say.

That said I am infinitely gullible and am constantly taken advantage of. But I prefer still to see the good ... except in lazy Dzeko ... Only fishing :-)

I agree some public clarification wouldn't go amiss but my point was just because there hasn't been doesn't mean that the issue hasn't been resolved already.

Sorry too late. I got a call the other day from a very nice Nigerian bloke about the same thing. I should get my monies soon. Can't wait.

Re: Yaya Toure

In the exact moment that Yaya let his agent talk bullshit about the club and do NOTHING to stop it he deserve to go IMO. No one has the right to let those kind of ugly things been said on the press.
