And the legend continues...

We'll be cheering him again after his customary goal against the rags, let's put it to bed and close this monstrosity of a thread...

So Toure flashes his knickers to all and sundry across Europe. When everyone takes a look at the cost, they all politely tell him and his agent no thanks. He comes back to City with his ego between his legs. Absolute fucking tosser.

He needs to make sure he does it on the pitch next season. Beyond that I'm not arsed one bit about it.

If he was 5 years younger and had just put a season in like his last one, we'd be looking at the sort of money that Bale went for.

I cannot think of one single club who would stump up the fee AND pay the monthly that MCFC are paying for Yaya. That's not to say that he isn't worth it. Last season's efforts showed that it was money well spent, but it goes to show that anything upto 99% of players don't give a flying ckuf about a club!

+1. Unfortunately the stakes are so high these days that Clubs (like City) can't afford to not tolerate some player's attitude problems.

Neither could he :)

Great news that he's decided to stay. He was immense last season (a "man mountain", to quote the MOTD commentary against Spurs). However...... maybe I'm being a cynical old ****, but I wonder how much of a payrise he's got. It worked for Rooney after all, and both he and Yaya are controlled /manipulated by their agents. Also, will it all blow up again next summer?

Definitely.

As it stands he has the chance next season to show last season wasn't a fluke, and reingratiate himself himself with us supporters in who's eyes he's fallen from a legend to a dick.

Not really arsed that he staying - I wasn't that bothered either way. To be honest I quite fancied us building a team without his defensive limitations being exposed by the very best opponents.

It will be interesting to see where he fits in next year with Fernando. He might not play every game.

But he isn't .

First of all I like to state my previous opinion that (private) circumstances might be responsible for the outings that were happily printed in the media.

Unfortunately, but as expected, his latest statement doesn't clear up the birthday and ill-brother accusations versus certain individuals at the club.
Just the 'never intended to leave the club' and 'respect my contract' remarks. Oh yes, and ofcourse it's all for the fans. The usual crap players use when they know they are in the wrong and want to avoid the fans' anger.

I hope Yaya and his agent will know the fans aren't THAT stupid or stupid at all.

As for now, we move on. Yaya can only repay what he and his agent have damaged among most fans by having as good a season as the last one. And that one was terrific, deserving a Player of the Year award.

He's had a difficult couple of months. But would your head be in the right place if your brother was dying? I didn't think so either.

Sure, his agent is a bit sly and Yaya's not exactly rushed to deny the rumours himself. But that's all they ever have been: tabloid rumours wound up by a bored press.

Footballers earn a lot of money but they're still human. Humans make mistakes. Whatever happened needs to be forgotten now, we prepare for next season and we try to retain the title.

Good spot Sherlock. You're wasted on here, you should join the police and be a detective or something.

If this was a one off, then fair enough, but we seem to have a drama with this mardarse every year, over something or nothing.

Do we, though?

It normally seems to be Seluk who starts the rumours before Yaya quickly shuts them up. It's taken a little longer this year because of his brother's death and the World Cup, but it's over now.

I wouldn't call you cynical and old.
