With the best will in the known universe we can't disregard the fact this man Seluk does Yaya's bidding. He may also offer advice but his main job is to effect Yaya's desires and demands to the best of his ability afaik.

So he has split loyalties between his best mate he grew up with in Africa, and his desire to play for City. Maybe?
I can't help thinking if he had another agent this would never have raised it's head

‘I like my players more than I like money,’ Seluk said recently, but he has certainly become a rich man off Toure’s success and stands to make even more if he can engineer one more big transfer before Toure retires.


They first got together when Toure left Ivory Coast to join Belgian club KSK Beveren in 2001. Such was Seluk’s hold over the player that Yaya ignored advice from his own brother Kolo to join Ukrainian team Metalurh Donetsk. From there it was on to Olympiacos, Monaco and then Barcelona.

I don't care what points you say you have. Your logic totally disregards the club and puts yaya's unwarrented and unnecessary whims ahead of what is best for city.

If he wanted to focus on the world cup he and his representative should have stayed quiet.

If he stays and does the biz then fair do's but equally not arsed if he goes.

In the meantime, I am asking to reserve judgement because his first reaction was to say he was committed to us, then he supported his agent. Fuck knows what pressure he was under at the time, We all do stuff under pressure, right?
But I would give him the benefit of any doubt on the basis his initial response was judge me by my performance on the pitch for city.

Seems obvious to me why this has all happened at this moment. Yaya is after a move , why else would he wait until after the World Cup to make a statement on his future. He hopes that he plays so well that he will have his pick of top clubs. City are just a second prize to him if nobody else comes in.

It does seem as though that whatever he has to say will apparently cause him distractions at the world cup, if he was to say he is happy and will stay at city it would likely put this matter to rest. Alternatively if he was to say he is unhappy at city and wants to leave it would only increase the speculation about where he wants to go and who wants to buy him.
