Yaya Toure signs one year extension.

If Toure is playing first team football next season, we can get forget about winning anything next season.

He can still control games against most sides in the Prem. Whilst it might be imprudent to start him against the stronger sides (especially away from home), I see no reason why he couldn't start 30+ games for us in all competitions next season. Even now, I am struggling to think of many other players in the Prem who are better on the ball than he is.

They don't. He was brilliant against Monaco at home, Chelsea at home, Spurs at home, Bournemouth away, Liverpool home.

The teams worst performances happen against pressing teams, Yaya's don't. In fact one of the reasons we struggle against those teams is because Yaya is the only player who really deals with intense pressing by defending teams. If we had another 2 or 3 who were as good as him we'd be laughing.
Look, I rate him highly but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Liverpool at home, he was blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes, same with Monaco, which is why Pep decided against him for the second leg

Yeah, and that was a complete disaster because we couldn't keep hold of the ball without him.

Must say I'm not confident he'll stay but you'd hope he'd back himself to win another 12 months this time next year.

Realistically I just don't see him taking a 12 month deal with us to be a bit part player when there'll be clubs in the PL and abroad offering the same money but with a two year deal and also the guarantee of being a key player.

Not a cat in hells chance some premier club will offer him two years on the same deal. If Yaya loves the club so much and money isn't an issue why wouldn't he accept another year.

Relaxed either way. His best days are behind him but his passing is still a joy to behold. Added to that, his attitude and fitness have improved massively. He could therefore still play a role for another season.

I can also see a case for moving on most of the old guard, providing we leave ourselves adequate cover.

His gesture against Leicester, allowing Jesus the penalty and then congratulating him on scoring, was testament to his current mentality towards City and his club-mates.

So club aint doing owt for yaya because we going to offer a reduce 12 month contract? Personally that is piss poor for one of city's best ever players. So tomorrow us fans should give him a good send of.

Newcastle next season unless we pay a basic above £175k. And yeah it is about the money (for all players).

Dimitri Seluk to Sky Sports News: "The last time I spoke to anyone at City was in Monaco in March."

Dimitri Seluk: "We have many possibilities. Yaya already has offers from different clubs. They are very interesting offers."

Dimitri Seluk: "There are clubs who have already qualified for next season's CL, but for Yaya, Manchester City is a very special club."

Dimitri Seluk: "He has given his heart to the club and he would find it difficult to leave City."

Hopefully we have cut him out and talked to yaya directly

I'm not convinced he will get 2 years elsewhere, and I doubt he'll be broke with our wages either, can't see many offering much more, especially abroad, and here it can be incentivised for appearances and/or goals, and trophies won, I also think he'd fancy the chance to win the PL, or CL again, and there are few other places he'll get that chance.

I think it'll drag on, while he waits for offers, but that ultimately he'll stay for another year.

That sounds to me like he's told Seluk he wants to stay.

Karen. They have to speak to the agent. Wise up.
Yaya can do his own thing with the club and we don't need to speak to Seluk till a second before we legally have to,then short and sweet,in other words he would have zero influence if that is what yaya wants,we no longer pander to that twat of an agent anymore

It certainly sounds like he's very tempted to stay...and why not. Next season he will be playing in one of the best teams ever assembled in the Premier League or any other league for that matter.

As happy as i've been to see Yaya put in some strong performances this season, i think we'd be wise to let him go this summer.

We all complain about how the ridiculous situation with having multiple ageing full-backs has been allowed to occur, but next summer Fernandinho will be 33 and Silva will be 32. If we keep Yaya around, we could well be sleepwalking into having to overhaul most of our midfield in much the same way. It already feels like we've somewhat wasted one year under Pep by not adequately addressing the ageing squad before he arrived. Let's free up his wages and more importantly his squad place to bring in someone young, dynamic and hungry to learn how to play exactly how Pep demands now and not heading into what could potentially be Pep's final year with us.

Ok Karen so explain to me why we have had to "pander" to his "agent " for the last 6 years.
