Yaya Toure

That run in the semi against the scum and doing it again in the final. Nuff said, we'll be telling our kids and grandkids about it. He looked like an animal.

Hush pup(pies)

I take it back, this is much more his style:

Back in October 2013 in the very early days of Pellegrini we lost away at Chelsea with that last minute howler. From that moment onwards for nearly the next 18 months until March in the 14/15 season whenever we started with the Ya Ya/Dinho axis our results in the league were phenomenal.

The next 28 games they both started together in the league delivered 23 wins, 4 draws and just 1 loss. That's a PPG of over 2.6 and projected over a full 38 game season is just light of 100 points. In that run of games we scored 90 times (YaYa got 23 of them) at an average of over 3.2 goals per game. Projected over a 38 game season that is an astonishing 122 goals.

But it all went to shit shortly after YaYa returned from the ANC a winner having achieved his lifetime ambition.

The 1st game back both YaYa and Dinho started after the ANC was an easy home win against Newcastle. The next 4 games they started together were the 4 away games on the bounce that we lost and effectively killed the 14/15 season: Liverpool, Burnley, Palace and United.

It's been up and down since but the big man is truly a legend by any definition.

Unfortunately he's going to struggle to fit in Pep's side

I think you'll be surprised.

The difference in energy expenditure between Yaya playing in a midfield two and midfield 3 or 4 will be huge.

Once he's not tasked with doing the job of 3 players I think we will see he's got plenty of energy to play.

Not to mention he probably won't be playing the full 90 minutes, 2 or 3x per week like he is under Pellegrini.

First saw YAYA in our pre season friendly v Olympiacos, think he was about 19. He just ran the game 1 to 90. He looked startling even then.

He & Carlito were the poster boys for 'The project'. What a player. What value. We have been privileged to have one of the finest players of his generation.

There are LIONS,TIGERS,ELEPHANTS & HIPPOS........then there's YAYA. One of the big five beasts.

Best all round player at City since Colin Bell.
