Yaya

Well we might as well say that balotelli won us the league with his pass to Aguero, therefore, he's a City legend.
To me, a City legend is someone that takes the club to their heart. Some players have been here and behaved like we should be grateful that they've graced us with their presence.

I’ll always be grateful to YaYa and the trophies he was instrumental in helping us win.

We will look back at YaYa and recognise that he was THE best player from the last 30 years to don a City shirt. I know Silva is mustard, Aguero is a peach of a player, but YaYa stands top of the pile. He has been the key player when we’ve needed the biggest wins - FA cup semi, cup final, Newcastle away, Palace away, Everton away, League cup finals etc. He gets slaughtered on here and elsewhere by people who can never have played the game and who really don’t have a clue about what separates the very best from the middle/top tier. He is a colossus of a player.

Well said, I just can't understand why so many on here want to deny him of any recognition.
Perhaps not the best player from the past 30 years but I'm struggling to nominate who has been better. He has been a monster of a player for us, unbeatable at times.
Pity he has a **** of an agent.

Why choose Dickov?
I'll choose Silva, Kompany, Aguero, Hart, Zabaleta, Kinkladze, Rosler etc.
I'm not talking about some badge kisser. Just someone who respects the club and doesn't constantly try holding us to ransom and stirs the shit.

well said trouble is some people on here cannot separate the 2 of them

That's because he hides behind his twat of an agent.

The agent isn't saying or doing things without Toure's approval, he just believes that if the agent says shit instead of him it's OK.

I don't deny that he is one of the most important players ever in our history. But he's a twat for what he has said and done through his agent.

Seluk is HIS agent. He has said in the past that Seluk speaks for HIM.
Not on one single occasion has he ever distanced himself from what his agent has said.

You are struggling to name someone better because they just don't exist. I watched Colin Bell many many times but I can't put my hand on my heart and say he was better or more influential than Yaya; what I am sure of is Yaya is the best player and most important player since The King. My views on this have firmed up recently: it's Yaya's impact on the big moments that sets him apart from his contemporaries.

The reason you’ll struggle to nominate a better City player is because there isn’t one - he is and was the absolute bollocks. His agent (and possibly the man himself) may muddy his reputation, but those who know a decent player when they see one, acknowledge it will be a long, long time before we have anyone who can match his title and cup-winning pedigree.

Yaya does not play for either Leicester or Spurs, nor has he ever played for Chelsea, Arsenal or the rags. I mention this because in his time at City, these clubs have been winning trophies, or likely to win them this season, without Yaya being a member of their teams. From this it can be deduced that though he HAS been an influential member of the City squad in his six years at the club, time does not stand still and any ideas that he can suddenly revisit his majestic form, his fitness and his energy merely through giving him a new contract can soon be shot down. Our new manager will anyway be demanding a higher intensity game and any player who is not up to it will soon be out, however great the reputation of those players.
