read what his agent had to say regarding Yaya's new contract , and for once he talked sense , he didnt make demands , and showed appreciation to our club and supporters , what i do not understand his contract ends in summer 2017 , so he cannot walk way for nowt , we will be entitled to a fee ,and we will deicde if he leaves or stays , its not Yaya's or his agents decision at the moment .But if he wants to jump ship in a couple of months. perhaps NYCFC could sign him for £100m , or would that upset UEFA and their FFP bollocks.

Silva is my favourite ever city player because I appreciate the way he plays the game, it's just a personal preference. There's absolutely no denying that Yaya has been the most influential player since the takeover. Nobody does 'big' moments quite like him and for that he deserves the rightful recognition.
Ideally he'll give us a little bit more before the season ends but after that I think his time as a first choice starter has come to an end.

I'd still take him for another 12 months in a reduced roll but I'm not sure if he'd be willing to accept that.

Yaya is the best player I have seen for City. Always difficult comparing a midfielder with a defender / forward etc but consider the goals he scored and created in the most important games. He was unstoppable with few flaws in his game.

I've said many times that the dip in City's form is down to the dip in Yaya Toure's game, and that's not a criticism of Toure its recognition of just how key he has been to City over the last 5 years. I thought we'd be better off this season dropping him and replacing him with a combination of Delph, Fernandinho etc and playing two up top and concentrate on our strengths but Pellegrini seems loathe to do that, and losing Nasri, De Bruyne and Delph to injury, and with Silva struggling too it has reduced our options.

I can see him at City next season, but only in a reduced role. Whether that suits him is up to him. Cakegate was a saga but it doesn't really matter what Yaya or his agent says now. His importance to City has dipped remarkably

That's because he hides behind his twat of an agent.

The agent isn't saying or doing things without Toure's approval, he just believes that if the agent says shit instead of him it's OK.

I don't deny that he is one of the most important players ever in our history. But he's a twat for what he has said and done through his agent.

Couldn't agree more. As a player he HAS been unbelievable for us over the years and there's not one of his critics (me included) who would dare to deny that fact, even if the last 18 months/2 years has tainted those memories to some extent. To be a true club legend it's as much about the person, their attitude and behaviour off the pitch as it is about the player and however you feel about Yaya the player, it's impossible to have any respect for him as a person from what we see and hear.

Absolutely spot on !

With his agent as his mouthpiece, he continually shows a total lack of respect to the club and the supporters.

Great footballer - absolute tw*t of a person imo.

Sorry, i mean in a defensive position this season he has been surrounded in the majority by Sagna, Kolarov, Clichy, Otamendi, Demichellis, Mangala, Delph, Fernando and Fernandinho. This is the area of the pitch that he has to drop into because none of the above are good enough with the ball to allow us to play possession football from the back. The technical ability is at the other end of the pitch, but even then, Silva has struggled badly this season, Sterling doesn't really have a reliable touch, De Bruyne and Nasri have missed big chunks, Navas is ridiculously one-footed.

I don't get why you are so bothered about him ambling around for 2-3 seconds after we lose the ball. So does Aguero, so does Silva, so does De Bruyne, so does Nasri. The only attacking minded players who don't are probably Sterling and Navas and the only reason they get on their bike is because they have an opposing full back to track. So long as Toure doesn't allow the opposing centre back or defensive midfielder to amble past him, it's irrelevant and it is such a ridiculous point to attack him on.

I could totally understand your dislike of him if we had better options in the squad, but we quite clearly don't - as Liverpool away and Norwich away have recently shown.

Personally I think you're wrong in your perception that a midfielders defensive job is done as long as he "doesn't allow the opposing centre back or defensive midfielder to amble past him", that's only part of the defensive responsibility. There's positioning to block passes into strikers feet, there's closing down quickly at the right angle to shut off passing options, there's coming back to take the ball off a striker who is being held up/contained by a defender, there's doubling up to stop a winger coming inside your full back.

All dirty jobs our midfield doesn't like and that's why we're 4th and not walking away with another league title.

We will look back at YaYa and recognise that he was THE best player from the last 30 years to don a City shirt. I know Silva is mustard, Aguero is a peach of a player, but YaYa stands top of the pile. He has been the key player when we’ve needed the biggest wins - FA cup semi, cup final, Newcastle away, Palace away, Everton away, League cup finals etc. He gets slaughtered on here and elsewhere by people who can never have played the game and who really don’t have a clue about what separates the very best from the middle/top tier. He is a colossus of a player.
Correct, should be worshipped.Instead he has a gang of fuckin clueless lager louts who know fuck all about the game, shouting lazy bastard to him !

I'm not interested in anything his agent says any more. Only interested in the football. That's our only association with them.

We could play a defensive midfield if we wanted. We have the players to do that. Pellegrini refuses to do so. We'd be better off just accepting that without Nasri, and De Bruyne and with an ageing Toure and a half fit Silva, we'd be better off being competitive in midfield, and playing Kelechi or Sterling with Aguero. Last few games Aguero has been entirely isolated.

It's been some variation on a 5 man midfield virtually all season, and yet 2 seasons ago Pellegrini was criticised for being obsessed with playing 2 up top even against the best teams. We know why he has changed his approach. He should have gone one stage further. At least experiment. We haven't beaten any of the top sides this season. But we carry on playing the same bankrupt football and not even trying another approach. A good job change is coming.

Well we might as well say that balotelli won us the league with his pass to Aguero, therefore, he's a City legend.
To me, a City legend is someone that takes the club to their heart. Some players have been here and behaved like we should be grateful that they've graced us with their presence.
Balotelli did less than fuck all for us,but somehow held in higher regard by some.

Yaya's agent is a c**t but it's Seluk's job to get the best possible deal for his client. Upsetting the Club is part of the agent's job description.

Yaya is a footballing legend who I prefer any day to e.g. the hero worshipped Jimmy Milner, who manufactured leaving us on a free transfer!

I will be writing to the Club asking them to commence work on the Yaya's statue in the Summer!
