Yaya's Contract

I'm starting to think that he has a clause in it that says he HAS to start if available. That's the only reason I can think of why Roberto won't rest him.

His recent performances have been so lethargic it's been painful to watch.

Well he has'nt, and the only clause I want inserting is that Yaya plays every game.
Live with the pain, it will be worth it in the end.

We have no one else who can play his role, that has to be the reason he is only rested for minor cup games. Can't Nasri play there??? Nasri is wasted on the left and if he can play Yaya's role occasionally it'd give him a better chance to impress.
Nasri can't be trusted there. He can't recover a ball if his life depended on it. Well maybe, but you get my point.

How can a player be slower running backwards without the ball than running forward with it?

A real enigma for me. Will be interesting to see how we shape up in January without him

Incosistent, loses posession more times than he delivers a pass, runs forward, walks back. Capable of so much but does it so not very often. Give Milner his chance in the middle, no big loss to my mind!

thought exactly that during the game.

I'm a Yaya convert, he will be missed greatly when we inevitably rest him. Such a unique centre midfielder, he really gives us an edge.

I thought he done well today.

He's different from an ordinary centre midfielder. He'd be better suited with interval training as he has to sprint then jog then sprint again and again. All Barry has to do is go at one pace.

He does need a rest, though, I agree.

+1

Do some people actually live on this planet. Or am I living in some parallel universe the shite that's spouted on this forum is actually unbalievable

I'd give him until Bayern at home off now. He's been so sluggish recently (QPR away and onwards) i've felt tired watching him!

Yeah he looked totally sluggish when he rose about ten feet in the air to bury the winner against qpr.

Some shit written on here

hahaha beat me to it.

Pivotal player. Conducts play for us game after game, including today. No surprise we went to pot when he tired in the last 25.

He's one of those players who does 1 good thing and then about 10 bad things but because his good thing grabs the headlines you forget about the rest.

I hate reading stats on players like most number of passes completed or whatever, doesnt mean anything if you pass it backwards everytime or sideways.

I agree with the OP, he is so slow and just wanders around the middle of the field, when he falls over he takes about 2 minutes to get back up, he must hit the target with 1 out of every 50 shots and he gives the ball away a ridiculous amount! The last 2 games especially he's been useless, he should be out and De Jong should be in no question on current form. Im not saying he's always like this but recently he has been...

He is brilliant no club in this country would refuse him, I can't believe the amount of crap our team is getting on this site today, the result we got today will have really got to our rivals.

Nasris best form for Arsenal last season was from playing in the central role. So yes he can do that role were we have him playing on the wing now he seems to be a bit of a passanger in the games at times.

I think come January when Yayas on African Nations duty Nasri will be used in that role. We might see the best of him during that time. Today Yaya could of been taken off in the second half he was finding it hard. Tought Mancini would of put De Jong on for the last 25 minutes today to give Adam a good kicking the dirty bastard.
