You are the ref

Number 1: COULD have been avoided, but I guess that any of us put in that situation would have done the same.

Number 2: Spot on. Its basic manners to take at least something! Sometimes i've gone to parties and such without taking anything, but that means I don't take anything that belongs to somebody else either.

From a refereeing point of view, i'd say this is a caution and a slight warning not to do it again with a jokey laugh, ala Jeff Winter.

1) id have gone out of my way to have a good old chat with said gentleman including banging premier league years 2011/12 on the old sky plus

2) my biggest pet hate freeloading twats, you should have kicked the fucker down the street (in the direction of bargain booze obviously)

1. Grow up.

2. Don't invite people to your house if you are not going to provide food AND drink.

I'm with your wife on this one.

Before you start, you did ask.

Sounds like you were caught off guard. I'd have warned you that he was one of them. That way it gives you time to prepare. So maybe your wife is at fault :)

Its probably petty to some but i have an issue with anyone that turns up empty handed at any party, not just mine. They were expecting to be fed AND watered whilst not even a bag of salad as a token gesture. Its just common courtesy, id have been pissed too.

Dickhead on both counts but to turn up without booze for a do is a cunts trick. Still should supply them even if its unfortunate
Im surprised you are married though

We had a barbecue on Saturday afternoon and after two incidents the wife reckons I'm a dickhead,I obviously disagree and so let the cellar decide.
Incident 1,her best mate from work, husband and kids turn up from the beach and he's wearing U***** shorts.
I'm civil but hardly go out of my way to be friendly,my wife wants to know why,I tell her and bingo,I'm a dickhead.
Incident 2,a couple from our sons pre-school turn up without ale and he goes minesweeping,I tell him there's an offie 5 minutes walk away and he and his family see there arses and do one.
His excuse was my wife told him not to bring anything,so he didn't(that never includes ale in my book),the wife reckons I could have been more diplomatic, but the bloke was taking a real tight arses ale and I didn't need the mither,so stepped in.Dickhead or not?.

incident 1 your a dickhead

incident 2 your bang on the money freeloading fuckers
