"You silly old moo". Till Death Us Do Part being shown again.

A mate at work showed me a clip of a similar sitcom, can't remember what it was called but it had the actor who played gene hunt from life on mars.
Some guys of a different ethnicity in a pub being told they ought not drink there, it was horrendous.
Glad most of society has moved on.

I watched " The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin " last night on That's TV channel and I really enjoyed it.
I haven't seen any "Till Death Us Do Part " episodes for at least 20 years,so it will be interesting to see if it is
still a good/funny show.
Maybe " Love Thy Neighbour" to be screened next month??

Both TDUDP and Love Thy Neighbour mocked racist attitudes. But the racists didn't realise. Warren Mitchell & Dandy Nichols were outstanding.

Till Death Us Do Part was meant to be one big joke at the expense of the bigot Alf Garnett. In fact, this flew over many people's heads. He was too close to reality, not exaggerated enough. Many actually saw him as a hero. In 2022 this show could be a bit of a grenade.

Perrin was absolutely brilliant.

Up until that third (?) series set in some sort of commune. That was shite, and such a letdown after the previous series. Jimmy (Reggie's brother in law) was a brilliant character. Always around on the cadge for food. "Bit of a cock up on the catering front". And Reggie turning the pic of the Queen back to front when he was trying to bed Joan.

There was a programme a few months ago that was discussing Love Thy Neighbour and it mentioned that Rudolph Walker didn't think that the show was too racist as Eddie Booth always came worse off in any clashes they had ,and just highlighted that he was an ignorant racist bigot.
From my own point of view it was great and I was more than happy that Eddie Booth was a rag twat.
Oh and Bill was married to the delightful Barbie, played by the gorgeous Nina Baden -Semper !!

Jacki Piper also made a guest appearance in last nights episode.
Another lovely looking lady from my youthful years.

Tony Blair's father in law as the "scouse git" in "Til Death..."

And remember the black home help? Alf was not a happy bunny. It was hilarious, and brilliantly scripted, showing Alf up as the bigoted fool he was. There's no way you could make it these days, though. Society's attitudes to that type of humour has totally changed.
