Why is it that some people don't want people to know how old they are - even cyber friends they've never met haha

a lot of my friends on facebook don't fill in the bit that says what year they were born, so you get a reminder that its somebody's birthday today but it doesn't say which birthday (only on about 20%)

I have to say that I notice its mostly the ladies who are shy of showing theyre age

Im always puzzled why though, is it something to be ashamed off ?

I think it depends what age you are. Never had a problem with it in my 20's or 30's but now im in my 40's Im a bit more reluctant to be specific! and yes women don't like revealing their age much more than men!

Spose its like men revealing how long their penis is - if its very long doubt anyone would have a problem giving the exact measurement if its only 2inches they want to keep it to themselves :)
