Some good calls there.

My favourite is the Dogue De Bordeaux although I have a pretty long list of dogs I like, we currently have a Beagle who`s a great pet, unfortunately he can`t go off lead anymore, gets a scent and he`s off on a mission and one or two close calls have caused me to changed how he gets his exercise.

He looks lovely mate. My uncle's dad has a female bull mastiff that keeps him safe and guarded cos he's quite old now and lives on quite a large plot of land in the middle of nowhere. She's soft as shit but the strongest dog I've ever seen, certainly wouldn't want to get chased by her lol. About 6 foot tall when she's on her hind legs. We had a black labrador for 4 years. He died in July of last year which still hurts like hell. He used to work for the prison service and had to retire at 8 so we were offered him for his 'retirement' if you like. For 3 years from 8-11 he was very very spritely and active, absolutely crackers especially for quite an old dog. The most obedient and intelligent dog I've ever come across as well. He had to have one of his toes off when he was around 11 because he had an infection in it which slowed him down a bit. He loved his walks and tennis ball, lived for them in fact. He wasn't a very good guard dog, he only ever barked about 3 times over the time we had him! Briliant with kids though. Unfortunately he fell ill and he was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and maybe pancreas. He was put on steroids for just over a week and really perked up, happy as Larry but went downhill very quickly so we did the best thing and put him to sleep. We aren't gonna get another once because like you said, we've never met a dog that was a patch on him and I for one can't go through the trauma and pain again cos he was the best thing I could ever have had. Here's a picture of him anyway :
