Kolarov played much better today. Looked like he finally said fuck it and relaxed a bit.

You have got to be joking?
I was at the match and IMO that performance was shockingly poor.
At half time I was praying for garedo to come back!

Lost the ball repeatedly, didn't block any crosses and his corner taking and free kicks were simply awful.

Horrendous performance.
No, I'm not joking so piss off.

Poor corners, yep. The rest was good enough. He did a few Zab impressions, charging through shoulder to shoulder stuff, and played a screamer of a ball aimed at Tevez which the defender was extremely pleased to clear without sticking it in his own net. The point is, Kebe tore Everton apart, and this time they frequently threw 3 players up against Kola and Lescott. It led to some difficult choices but both did their job and it came to nothing.

De Jong and Silva were excellent. Reading had NOTHING down the middle and it was largely thanks to Nigel, who broke up attacks 5-6 times like no one else in our team can do effectively.

Lescott was also very good again.
DIdn't particularly like De Jong today. Thought he was the reason we moved the ball up so slowly. Micah, Yaya and Silva.

nigel was head and shoulders above everyone else.

Precisely. I didn't say he was perfect. I said he did better, and he did. I saw glimpses today of the player he can be. He's in poor form and as I mentioned elsewhere he and the rest of the team will have to play their way into form.

Just having him there... you could see how much of a difference it made in the mindset of the other players. As the game went on, they looked more and more comfortable knowing he was there to sweep in if Reading got behind them.

So De Jong purely because of how he made the other players feel??????

Lescott just pips Nigel for me on this performance. Both players were immense, not much was getting through today with these two on the case, which was comforting at the time given the enormity of the tie.
