Your Opinion - A Better Bluemoon?

This evening the forum has been going very slow. We were playing a pre season friendly in America and there was not that many people on Bluemoon, yet there were still issues. I know Ric has stated that he does not want people to have to pay to use this forum, but i am yet to come across a Bluemooner who would not pay a yearly subscription fee to ensure this site runs efficiently and effectively, to the best possible standard. If this was to be applied we would also kill two birds with one stone. Remember a few months back when a load of rags from SadCafe came on and just started making stuid posts and totally blocked up the forum, if they had to pay the subscription fee to be able to post, do you really think they would spend there money on a City forum - I think not. Im just after peoples opinion on this matter i have raised, would you object to paying if this was to come in? Simple answer so maybe the owner/creator can get the general idea of the posters on here and possibly take action. Something clearly needs to be done because i think we are a good bunch of fans who all voice our opinions, and largely all get on. I feel that if something isnt done ASAP then people will just go to another city forum which does not crash when anything of significant importance happens, or doesnt happen in tonights case. Your thoughs please.

I agree. The 2 main bonuses are the forum would be able to run much quicker after some much needed reapirs went on, and no wums or rags or annoying fans from other teams would come on, unless they are genuine football fans which would be welcome.

I would not pay to use an internet forum.

Probably as good a reason as any to introduce the scheme.

I certainly wouldn`t object in paying a fee.
However IMO we should still allow non members to join in,but in an allocated area of the forum only.
That way the majority of us who pay, then don`t need to look at it,as we know its probably full of crap from Rags etc.
It may not work,just an opinion.

I've never donated to the site which is a bit shit on my part to be honest, but if a subscription fee would bring in new equipment to aid the stability of the forum then i am all for it.

On the opposite end, we would probably lose 50% of forum users. More of a negative factor on Ric's part than anything else.

£10 a year sounds about right!

the only downside is it may take away some of the good genuine guys who post,, that have been here for years... another i dea i no a bit unfair but,,, people who had registered before 2005 or 2006 wouldnt have to pay!!!

but again thts harsh on the good blues who joined after tht time!

We've had this discussion several times before and every time Ric has said he didn't want it to become subscriber only.

I like the fact that fans of other teams can come on here because we sometimes get sensible ones. And the guests are half the problem with speed and they wouldn't pay anyway. Make it so you have to pay to even see what the forum is like and you pretty much close it to new posters. A possible solution to this would be to force people to sign in to read the forum but I'm not in a position to say if that would significantly increase speed.

This wouldn't work unless he ran the separate forum on another server (like another computer, sorry if i'm teaching you to suck eggs :p). Like a Bluemoon lite, but then that is more time and money on Ric and the moderators part.
