Your 6 favourite Westerns.

High plains drifter - can't believe no one has mentioned this one. It's my favourite western.
Magnificent 7
The good the bad and the ugly
Unforgiven
Once upon a time in the west
Pale rider
I loved watching High plains Drifter, my only gripe with the Clint Eastwood westerns was that some of them are edging into the very unbelievable and unlikely scenario.
I think High plains Drifter was probably the one that went furthest into that territory. Early directing by Clint was slightly naive in that respect.
It bordered on making a parody of itself.
Pale Rider also veered that way but was saved somehow by the excellent performance by Michael Moriarty. Who was entirely believable in that role.

The sons of Katie elder
Rio Bravo
True Grit original
Fistful of dynamite
The Good bad and the ugly
Once upon a Time in the West

Dances with Wolves
Tombstone
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Pale Rider
Unforgiven
The Magnificent Seven

The man who shot liberty vance
Pale rider
Outlaw josie whales
Good the bad and the ugly
One upon a time in the west
The searchers

Western comedies
Blazin saddles
Cat balou

My very favourite = "Shane". A classic.

As is "The Searchers" with Big John.

Please someone agree about Shane
Shane is a great Movie despite Alan Ladds' ludicrous outfit. His lack of physical presence actually makes him more heroic, especially when facing up to the granite slab that was Jack Palance.
