There's no love lost between the two sets of fans is there. To say we've had a few run-ins over the years is an understatement. I'm sure the Stoke fans are looking forward to our visit more than any other set of away fans this season. Bring it on I say and let the tales continue.

Always enjoyed Stoke away, espcially after the 15,000 fancy dress , inflatable banana day invasion. The players running out with the giant bananas was a classic moment. Typical City, had to spoil the day by getting beat.

The joint relegation day match at Stoke. Got a ticket in the Stoke main stand and kept my head down. Met a mate from work on the concrose at half time. Talking away, but kept it quiet. Never forget the city lads bombing over the walls all around the stadium and running to the city end when the first goal went in. Scrapping everywhere. Funny as fuck. Outside was mental. Stood with the Stoke fans and watched the constant charges by both sets of fans and the police. All in all it was a mental day, never to be forgotten.

A 4-0 defeat there ... think it was sometime in the eighties ...... City fans deserted the open end after the final goal and smashed the place to bits afterwards as they ran back to the station ....... Stokes souvenier shop window got put thro'!

I went to their old ground in the 96/97 season and it was Alan Balls last game in charge. We lost 2-1 with Rosler getting a consolation late on.

After about 75 minutes the City fans AND the Stoke fans were all singing 'If you hate Alan Ball clap your hands!'.

There's a familiar theme starting to occur. Can't quite put my finger on it.

never seen anything as mentalist as the 2-5
we in top tier so just sat back and watched it unfold
quite decent game of futy too

went to the fancy dress gala - got beat, and had to be on out toes

went to a night game at the Victoria ground too - cant remember the score, just know we got legged everywhere

dont expect this to be much differant

coming out of the new ground that had recently been built....the stoke inbreds stood on the top tier of the car park and showered us with house bricks and any other rubble left over from the building work...that enough for you :(

I hope you threw it back. Not saying you should like, but it's natural instinct.

that was the 70's black mamba.. i bust my knee jumping over a wall..had my brand new doc martins on..was 74 i think

Might well have been mate , i was only guessin' ..... it seems so long ago now!

Yeah , it turned out to be a bit chaotic that day , didn't it ........ i went on the special train ....... City fans just kinda went absolutely beserk at the end , but then back in those days our hooligan mobs were probably forming!

was there on the boxing day fancy dress day, it was crazy, it went off good and proper when we all got off the coach, i can't forget the image of snowmen, chicken's, vicar's, nun's and the like fighting with there boy's. Also went when we both got relegated, i had ruptured my posterior crutiate two day's previous so was on crutches, we also had ticket's for their end (i can tell you i didn't fancy it in their end on crutches!). There was a few stoke "lad's" sat behind us who knew we were city, we got out of there ok but was then bricked in the coach park after the game. They've alway's had a good mob (i know this from following England), had a few arguement's on train's back from London after England home games .

Britannia Worst ground i have been for trouble after our relegation into Div 2. Victoria ground wasn't much better. Our coach arrived on that infamous day bang on 3 o'clock and probably the last coach to arrive, we were greeted with a mob of Stoke lads with scarfs wrapped around there bald heads, city fans retaliated and charged out of the fire exit and confronted them, police were there in seconds with the dogs.
I got in the away end of the ground whilst 2 of my mates were in there end, it was the most hostile atmosphere i have encountered and when Goater scored hell broke loose one of my mates got thrown out 3 times and made it back in each time. My other mate went on the pitch and tried getting in our end, only for the police to arrest him, he was then on page 3 of the Evening news on the Monday, full blown picture of him.
The rest of the game i dont need to talk about and after the game was bedlam, people who were there will now how we were penned in and getting a shower of missiles thrown at us from the waste land surrounding there ground, there were bricks, tree trunks you name it, thrown. Hope it all passes off peacefully in couple of weeks

No use throwing them back they was 50 yards up hill and the stupid police held us back whilst they rained anything they could get their hands on down on us.
Still got the scar on my head.

Like I said, I was with the Stoke fans and I've never see so many lads dancing infront of one another near the away end coach entrance/exit. It was like the hokey cokey. Knees, arms, legs, raa raa raa, charge! the f***ing lot. Potty.

Remember playing stoke in the milk cup 1st leg in 1980 drew 1-1 think tommy booth played in goal for the 2nd half cos big joe got injured.

Victoria ground was my first ever away game, Trevor Francis debut - 81 i think - we won 3-1, I was 11 years old and was getting crushed at the barrier at the front - The steward took me and another little lad and said " now your not gonna run on the pitch are you" and then opened the gate and let us sit on the grass camber next to the photographers - wouldnt happen today - I also won the card on the coach and the git who organised the card gave me the winnings in 50p's.

I remember clearly the relegation game at the Brittania as I saw the most unluckiest City fan in the world. - He got hit full on the bonce with a brick, his mates picked him up and then he got hit again - full on the bonce- The poor guy had to be bundled on the coach with claret everywhere.

Also remember the battle on the bridge - fans running back and forth - FAF.

Kicked off big style 84/5 season - we were at Charlton - don't know who they were playing but it went big style at a service station - toe-toe for 20 mins before dibble arrived. Probably a split decision the result!! Also the Francis debut game was ace -we had rent-a-mob there that day to.

Probably me.

Had some great trips to Stoke.
Francis debut the best.
Vaguely remember a league cup match one night that went to penalties. We won about 9-8 I think.
