Your top three likeable managers over the last fifty years?

Purely in terms of likeable I'd say Horton has to be my no.1


As far as likeability of other clubs managers, I've got to actually say Solskjaer has earned some respect from me for...

Pretty much the first thing he did upon being appointed was to ship out that disgrace to football that is Marouane Fellaini

and

He's already admitted that the rags got a win they didn't deserve, think it was Watford (or it might have been spurs, or Brighton or West Ham?)... it's just about unprecedented for anyone associated with that club to ever come out and say such a thing.
 
I like managers who are successful but City have been fortunate enough to mostly sign managers who were likable guys (regardless of competence) from a fan perspective.
 
Roberto the second he put on that scarf did it for me
Pep after the league cup tie win on penalties at Leicester
Brian Horton loved watching his team play.Okay never looked like winning anything but played a very attacking way and loved how he still looks back foundly at his time at City.
 
I’m going for non- City managers:

Bobby Robson
Nuno - bloke is a gent and always honest
Slaven Bilic

All of these are chosen because they come across as decent. Not chosen on ability
 
City:
Mancini
Royle
Pearce

Non-City:
Warnock
Holloway
Dyche
 
Horton (still bugs me that he wasn’t kept. Loved him.)
Keegan (that promotion year felt better than last year tbh)
Royle (a proper gent)
Mancini (he was hilarious and the last heart-on-his-sleeve manager we’ll have I think)
Pep (a decent human but managers can’t be honest anymore so I’m not sure that he can show his real self to us)
 
I`ve seen Stuart Pearce out and about. It hard to believe that there is a more miserable un-approachable fucker out there.


I`m not one for introducing myself to ex-players or managers, but a friend of mine tried to thank Pearce for his time managing us. Pearce looked at the bloke like he`d stole Pearces wallet.

In fairness to Pearce he probably thought the bloke was taking the piss.
