The two Joes — Mercer and Royle. Roberto an honourable but distant third. (Actually Sven was a likeable guy…).

If you don't know the people, you are forced to rely on the public face. That said:
Mercer. Triumphed over serious illness and always had a smile on his face. Genuine uncle Joe.
Mancini. Fell out with loads, but never with the fans. Became a real blue. My wife used to swoon every time he appeared on TV, but I'll let him off.
Pep. I read somewhere that his gruffness with the British press is because he has a very low opinion of them and their inane questions, so he gets a thumbs up from me. With the foreign press, he is apparently charming.
Honourable mentions to Horton, Royle, Keegan and Pellers.

Great manager and all that he is.

Not sure what your idea of personality is but this guy stamped his personality all over our football team.

Sven was incredibly well-liked by the players, even the guys he didn't often select liked him.

Pep's not necessary likeable. He doesn't much care what people think of him, really. But by God he's a winner.
