The word "legend" is bandied around far too much nowadays, but it’s fair to say that Pablo Zabaleta deserves to be called one for everything that he did at Manchester City.
Not only did he stay at our club much longer than most players remain with the same team today, but he also played like a lifelong Blue and often shed blood for the cause. It was not unusual to see him with a bloody bandage around his head
Additionally, off the field, he behaved like a supporter, coming along to Academy games and happily mingling with other Blues.
His last game in a Blue shirt was one of the most emotional evenings I have experienced at Etihad and is something I’ll never forget.
Enjoy your retirement, Zaba, and I hope we see you back at Etihad in some capacity soon.
