The French Presidential Election

The history of the National Front is more like the BNP from what I gather and likewise if someone came along to try and turn that party into a more electable entity, this history of the party would see it never be elected.

But the guy she is facing is an out and out communist, hardly a party with a sparkling history either, the very fact this election will be so polarizing is almost a guarantee of more street violence, there goes the French tourist trade.

Are you sure you are not thinking of Melanchon?

Macron's En Marche! party has only been going for about a year, mate. It has no history.

Macron was the financial minister for the socialist party if I recall, but as many pundits believe, he left them to set up a new party in order to distance himself from the socialist party and Hollande as it was predicted that the Socialist party would suffer badly in this election, which it did as it only got 6.36% of the vote.

Whether it was a ploy by the socialist party and Hollande to do this and create a brainchild in Macron knowing full well they would suffer badly in this presidential election, we don't and probably will never know. At the moment it is a conspiracy theory.

Macron to me is trying to pull off this left populist look but in reality he looks as establishment as it gets if you look into his history.

She is taking a gamble there as the core support of the National Front may drop their support.

The problem with the National Front is that for as good a job she has done at trying to detoxify the party, there is too much bad history there for it to be elected.

I just answered your question.

She is taking a gamble but she needs to as whilst she may lose some core FN support, many won't vote for her because of the party.

Shrewd move.

Very clever.

Indeed. It's positions her as the true anti establishment candidate. Macron is acting like he's president already judging by his decision to lay a wreath yesterday and keep his supporters behind barriers. Whilst LE Pen was walking through French towns shaking hands, hugging and signing autographs with the public.

Well we have an American Facist President so a French Facist President is not impossible.

I hope she is heavily defeated as her kind of French were collaborators during WWII, so having had family members who had to fight in that war I kinda hate her and all she stands for.

And I definitely would.

Neither are any such thing, whereas the groups opposing them are far more fitting of the description.

Both want to reduce the control of the state in everyday life unlike the democrats who want to make more people dependent on it, as do the Socialists in France.

Freedom of speech is supported by both and actively opposed by their opposition who attack anyone not of their narrow ideals and refuse to accept election results when they dont favor their side.

The left loves identity politics, but they simply do not comprehend people have woken up to the bullshit, you can oppose mass immigration without being a "Racist", its not "Homophobic" if a baker does not want to bake a f*cking cake celebrating a way of life his personal beliefs do not agree with, " Islamophobia" is a natural reaction for an ideal that is a threat to every other way of life, and a bloke in a dress is a bloke in a dress no matter what he wants to be called.
