I hope your right. It's now or never for us imo. So if we're going to get him it has to be before August 31st.
It won't stretch till 31st. This is nothing like the Sanchez or the Mendy saga. 4 heavyweights - PSG, Madrid, City and Barcelona are interested. All of them have fuck you money. From what has been incredibly obvious from the start, Mbappe and his family know that he's a special talent and want a club which will establish him as the next greatest player. It's as much about money as it is about career growth, legacy and titles. Mbappe rumours were basically dead for a month and now, everyday there's something new. There's a reason for that. Most interested parties are done with their business and are now solely focusing on him. Mbappe too had been waiting to see how Monaco hold their own when buying clubs come calling and it's been obvious that they'll sell for the right amount. They've lost many important players this window, no thanks to us. He is now ready to get this over with and start training and playing for whatever his new club will be. The moment Mbappe gives his go ahead to any club, we'll see one or two bids and then deal done.

Google translation for us English folks -

Mbappe Accord - PSG. The club is preparing to make an offer to Monaco. The player has 10 days to settle his starting situation with his club, otherwise he would stay at the ASM.
Mbappe has a big club clause Nike (cat A) in its new contract with the equipment manufacturer, which includes only PSG, Manchester City, FC Barcelona and Chelsea.
Nike would like an association between Cavani (big AM-Sud representative outside Brazil), Verratti and Mbappe (Europe and France) and of course Neymar, in one of their most mediatized teams for the 2018 World Cup.

Mbappe and his clan have an agreement with the PSG. Monaco and Paris not and are still far away. Father Mbappe wants his son to be indisputable and to be the star of the team. Except that now at the PSG, the star for years is Neymar.
Mbappe would like to play with Neymar but would also dream of playing Real Madrid. The clan Mbappe is firm to no decision. Staying, being the star in Monaco, doing the CDM and leaving them suits as well.
The problem is that for Monaco this solution leads to a mandatory extension, and the Mbappe clan for the time being does not agree.
Going to a large club would also suit him if playing time ensures all the time.
Monaco will not align with the wage offers offered by PSG, City and Real Madrid.
As for Vadim, he refused categorically to sell in Paris.

My interpretation -
1. He's 100% leaving Monaco - If he decides to stay, Monaco want him to sign an extension. This makes sure that they don't lose out on big money next year. Mbappe's family don't like this because he can be held hostage by the club (club demanding 300 mil and nobody ready to pay that much). Plus Monaco are not able to match the wage offers by City, Madrid and PSG.
2. Mbappe has player agreement with all 3 clubs - This means that wage, bonus, image rights ownership, etc. have been fleshed out and all 3 clubs have agreed terms set by Mbappe's family. This doesn't mean that the player has decided to join any club.
3. Nike are pushing for PSG possibly because PSG has higher number of star players signed with them and their internal statistical analysis might have revealed that they'll make more profit if he goes to PSG. However, Vadim is adamant that they won't sell to a rival.
4. Leaks from Paris have next to no insider info about the City situation, which is why although they have mentioned our name, they have no information to provide. What we do know from Tolmie is that, similar to PSG and Madrid, Mbappe has agreed terms with City too.
5. It's now completely down to the player and his family to pick the club. When this happens, it is expected that both clubs will come to an agreement and sell the player this window.

Totally agree woth you 100%....think that mbappe has agreed what has been offerred by all clubs interested and that he just needs to choose. Good to see though that nike had him at our place over the last few days where he would have seen the setup etc.

Just have to wait it out now then

He will definitely leave Monaco then because mandatory extension doesn't sit well with his advisors who could lose a lot of money him staying.

Wanting to be the Star man would mean he doesn't want PSG, Barca or Madrid, Madrid not Nike preference

This then leaves only 2 clubs IMO City or Chelsea

We were reliably (?) informed on here that Monaco would never sell to PSG. Just a case of wishful thinking perhaps. The view was Madrid or us. Madrid have been backtracking in the press at least. We wanted this kid last year which shows commitment at least compared with Barca, for whom this would be a panic buy in the wake of Neymar 's departure.
My slight worry is that the PSG project might seem more appealing to him. After all he is French.

To put a few minds at rest. Articles that seem a little less far fetched and Football Manager dreamland driven.
Basically PSG see Mbappe as our kind of Messi deal...They kinda know it wont happen but they're giving it ago, a lot of things would need to fall perfectly into place for them to get him...Described as "Mission Impossible"

1) Obviously Monaco and PSG actually negotiating. Vadim seems quite adamant to not sell to them.
2) PSG being able to sell 4-5 squad players and the article spoke of Di Maria leaving for 70m euro, that in itslef would be difficult with how late in the window it is.
3) Them getting the money they want from sales. Also other target(s) how much budget is aside for them (Danilo 60m) . Basically like Madrid but PSG would need to sell a lot to bring the cash in.

They also said that Neymar would put 110m PY on the books of FFP. Not sure how accurate this is...

Think they know themselves its a big job, might just be a story to make other teams move fast. 10 days was mentioned last night, will hear lots this week id imagine.

Who's to say he'll be the star in our team

He's also from Bondy, which is a suburb of Paris...
