Gabriel Jesus - 2017/18 performances

Mbappe is insane player, I don't think Jesus is far off, but Mbappe at the moment is a better play. However Jesus may end up being on top in the next 2-3 years, he's under the right manager, while PSG will be in and out and Neymar will try to hog most the spotlight at PSG.
It's hard to make a fair comparison really whichever way you look at it(they are certainly both at the very top of the game for their age, maybe we should just leave it at that since players can change alot as they mature) at this moment in time it appears Mbappé is more explosive perhaps and he's a killer in front of goal but that comes with his youth and exuberance as he's on a high right now. There will be a dip, it would be good to see him in a bigger league too to see how he handles all that, right now he can save his big performances for the CL which will be a help for him.

Jesus has the pace and the eye for goal too but one of the reasons it appears Jesus scores a lot of tap ins is because PSG and City play in very different leagues and play different football. Our goals on the whole are true team goals, if you've watched some of PSG they are relying more on their front 3 to make the difference... most of our attackers do the hard work in the build up. As others have said Jesus is showing surprising levels of maturity to his game, he's sacrificing what he needs to for the team, he's showing levels of discipline at City that might even have surprised his fans in Brazil.

I don't think we can leave Sané out of a discussion any longer either, for young players who could challenge for the Balon D'Or in the future, young players are hard to predict as to how high they can take their game, so much can change in either direction.

Jesus had his poorest game tonight , nothing worked for him , not for lack of effort, just a bad day at the office , Kun running into blind alleys all night did'nt help his cause , and Wolves also got the bounce of the ball all night long , brave and sometimes very fortunate defending nearly won the day for them.

Much better when he plays on his own, not sure two of them are good fit in games like this, when opposition put so many bodies in their box, they're canceling lot of each other.

Yeah, it's the dilemma. Play two and it benefits Aguero, but hurts Jesus. Play Jesus on his own and it benefits him but obviously no Aguero.

That elastico worked :)

Agree with you though. Wasn't his best game at all. Sane Jesus Sterling is our best attack.

Aguero isn't the sort of player who works well with a partner striker. He and Tevez nor Dzeko never really formed a duo that was going to last. Kun is a bit head down at times and is running into a wall of defenders. Its a shame because if he and Gab could have formed a great partnership we would be unstoppable, whereas Kun at the moment looks like his shooting gps is way off.

Aguero-Forlan at Atletico, and Aguero-Negredo at City worked. Agree with the Aguero head down remark, but that has improved under Pep.
Jesus does look at his best with Sane and Sterling next to him.
