Looks like we're not trying to win this game. I have to trust Pep's judgement on this one. Two more games in a hectic January schedule means higher risk to needless injury right before knockouts.
Not trying to win? We are trying to win... with the team we have selected. And if they do manage to win, the same players will try to win the semi-final. If they don't win, nobody will be unduely bothered. But that doesn't mean we are not trying to. Rest for the senior players is far more crucial, to be able to maintain our form throughout the season. We are not United, content with winning tin pot trophies. We are Manchester City, with desires to win the Premier League and Champions League. No team with our ambition and schedule plays a full strength team in the League Cup, or equivalent tournament across the globe.

its a cup to give youth a chance, not one take cc seriously really, well except rags when its then a major trophy when they win it

Personally have faith in all 4 junior players and am expecting them to mature into top players. So, okay, a below full-strength line up but still packed with talent. 1-3

So pleased you are no where near a decision making position at my club.

Not many bright sparks on here is there? The league cup wouldn’t save pep his job if he fails in everything else this season, it’s all about the league and champions league. You could argue that bournemouth are playing tomorrow, so we could have gone a bit stronger. But where does that leave the young lads and some of the others that haven’t played?

Really looking forward to see how this team performs. Zinchenko, Tosin too...and Bravo oddly enough :D

Win or Lose as long as everyone gives 100%, should be a decent game.
