Not trying to win? We are trying to win... with the team we have selected. And if they do manage to win, the same players will try to win the semi-final. If they don't win, nobody will be unduely bothered. But that doesn't mean we are not trying to. Rest for the senior players is far more crucial, to be able to maintain our form throughout the season. We are not United, content with winning tin pot trophies. We are Manchester City, with desires to win the Premier League and Champions League. No team with our ambition and schedule plays a full strength team in the League Cup, or equivalent tournament across the globe.Looks like we're not trying to win this game. I have to trust Pep's judgement on this one. Two more games in a hectic January schedule means higher risk to needless injury right before knockouts.
