Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Uefa have called an emergency meeting for Tuesday in which the possibility of postponing Euro 2020 by one year is an option being discussed.

European football's governing body will hold video conference meetings to discuss its response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Discussions will cover all domestic and European competitions, including Euro 2020.

Euro 2020 is due to take place from 12 June-12 July at venues across Europe.

Uefa has invited representatives of its 55 member associations, plus the boards of the European Club Association, the European leagues and a representative of world players' union Fifpro.

Still don't know why the Premier League are so silent.

You've got:
- Arsenal in quarantine.
- Chelsea cancelling training.
- Leicester - 3 players sent home.

Just do what's right and suspend the league.

Rumours online that the Euro's will be put back to next year as well.

They're silent because they can be, there's no rush to say something on Wednesday or Thursday and change their decision on Friday or Saturday.

Most likely we're just waiting for Johnson to announce that we're out of the contain phase and into delay and then they'll suspend games indefinitely.

Best thing to do now is just postpone all games for a month, get rid of all the uncertainty, then maybe pencil in a date mid april for it to start up again, see where we're up to by then and if it's safe to do so, start it up again and pick up where we left off. You could finish the season end of june.

I'm not a fan of the idea of just scrapping the season and starting again in August. People have spent fortunes this season buying tickets and travelling to games, not to mention missing out on family time, and all for nothing in the end?! Wouldnt like that at all.
