Fair enough, I wasn't criticising, just quoting the numbers they have published, either way a rise of over 1000 in 3 days must be of considerable concern, because its the same rate at mid March in Spain.

BBC news have just quoted that same number, and this looks like the official Spanish government release, which is linked from the worldometer site

...which seems to confirm 1229, so I don't know where the 2789 comes from ?
 
Either way as you say it is a rise and you do wonder about next week's match if this continues. Is it really safe for our players? Or Manchester.
 
Still no figures, Perhaps it is something to do with end of month catch ups? Though that should not have been true of the daily hospital data that was also very late.
 
However, cases have risen to the highest in some time. So you can see why Boris is sounding worried about us following Europe into second wave today.

Now we have been told we can all go abroad and get back to normal with a rather weak keep washing your hands etc then I reckon herd immunity is back on,not sure they will be too bothered unless the hospitals start filling up again
 
There is slight mitigation in that those cases are from 165, 480 tests - the most in 12 days. When we found a similar 827 cases.

And on 28 June when we found a handful more than today we actually did 50,000 fewer tests.

143,319 were the key pillar 1 & 2 tests today. Versus 90, 897 on the day we last had more cases.

Given that more and more people are out and about and ignoring social distancing it’s no wonder cases aren’t going down. Fed up of seeing pictures on social media of people in huge groups hugging and kissing. Yes you can see other people but social distancing is still important but you can’t have 20 people over for a piss up. Wish there was a website where you can report people for being selfish twats. Heard someone this week saying that as they and their whole family have had it he can pretty much do what he wants
