Anyone been scammed...

Me too. From the front in moss side. Didn't open it until queuing outside the Kippax, was gutted.
Oh, for fuck's sake haha...that's where i got it from. After a match in 1990...my usual dealer had nothing, so we asked some big Rasta guy outside the shops. Young and naive. You weren't with me, were you?

Selling my car.
3 different women trying to buy my car.

2 had Covid so couldn’t come in person but would transfer the money and their brother would come and pick the car up.

1 was pregnant so couldn’t come in person but would transfer the money and a friend would come and pick the car up.

Obviously once the car is a few miles down the road the money would be recalled/returned some how.

My brother-in-law warned me about this one.
An hour later the car will be in a shipping container in Liverpool about to be shipped out!

Didnt fall for it but it makes you laugh
An H reg Renault Clio?

It was around the same time but before the match. He was leathered, old black guy. When he got the weed out he dropped a load of crack rocks and pulled a big bowie knife to make sure we didn't knick them.

or had an attempt made. I've just been playing with an attempt today...I'm selling an old moped, restored etc etc for £550 and have had some interest. One especially from someone who clearly isnt English and possible not even in this country. No questions asked and no attempt to get a better price, just offering the money, to be delivered by a courier who will also pick up the item, yeah right !!!!!I've kept him hanging on for a few hours by asking daft questions and I think he's got the message.
We've also had a few when we used to hire out a property in Spain, porn film shoots, a party of priests and the usual bookings of hen and stag does all revolving around them paying us more than the amount of the asking price and asking for us to pass the difference on to a 'car rental ' firm. It's a numbers game for these guys, a lot will see through it but it only takes one or two to fall through the net, it's easily done. Fortunately I'm suspiscious cynical bastard and up for a laugh.
This reminds me of the time I sold my Audi on Autotrader about 5 years back. Just like you, no haggling and he wanted to send a courier to pick it up. By this point I'd already had the eventual buyer put a deposit on it and was due to come from Cornwall the day(sat) after. I knew straight away it was a scam so I had me some fun. I kept saying to him that I was trusting him and I would do the deal weekend. So I just kept in touch with him every few hours to get his hopes up even more. Come Sunday I'd had enough and put him out of his misery..I sent him a picture of some dog shit and I never heard from it again. :)
