City’s last penalty at Old Trafford

When did they last get one at ours?
When did they last not get one at ours?

Last season 6-3, consolation penalty
2021: 2-0 to them, penalty after 2 minutes
2019: 2-1 to them, penalty after 23 minutes
2018: 3-1 to us, penalty at 2-0

And that's without even mentioning their dodgy penalty in the FA Cup final or the blatant corruption of Rashford's non-offside in the league.

On 7 April 1992 Manchester City were awarded a penalty at Old Trafford, which Keith Curle converted to earn a 1-1 draw.

Many blues will already know the number of penalties awarded to City since then at the swamp: none. Nix, nada, niente.

Absolutely astounding that we could go so long without being awarded a penalty there. Since then, we have had 8 general elections, 7 prime ministers, America has had 5 different presidents, and City have won 15 major trophies.

Unless you are pushing 40 you have no memory of a City penalty at the swamp.

A record like that speaks for itself, yet we all know what the media will make of that simple statistic.

Absolutely fuck all.
Is this your way of revealing yourself as the bloke that jumped on Curly-Wurly’s back?

That’s a mental stat - especially considering how dominant we’ve been in games there over the past dozen or so seasons - and not something I’ve ever really considered to be honest. I was at that game in the Stretford Paddock with several hundred other blues and have been at all bar three derbies there since.

We definitely should’ve had a penalty in the 6-1 there when Micah was fouled but having not long sent Jonny Evans off, Clattenburg completely and utterly bottled it and did some stupid gesture with his hands to explain why it wasn’t given. I seem to recall a blatant one not given a couple of seasons back towards the end of our 2-0 win as well. And as already mentioned, we should’ve had three in a single derby game at home when that bent **** Oliver was reffing.

Some of those old trafford derbies: 2011, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2021, we were as dominant as we’ve been in any other away game at a ‘Big 6’ club since the takeover. Especially 2014, 2016 and 2021 where we totally brutalised them.

It actually offends logic we haven’t had a penalty in any of those games.

Serves to underline just how much better than them we’ve been in that period.
