International Matches (3rd Sept 15 - 9th Sept 15)

Luke Shaw may prove to be the one that got away. I have to say, I really don't hate this new set of United players like I did the last. Even if I loath their obsessive deranged fans.

Messi 48 goals in 104 caps
Ronaldo 55 goals in 120 caps
Rooney 50 goals in 107 caps .

Top 2 are idolised by english fans , the englishman is hated

Sums it up really. English fans just love slagging off there own.

We could win the World Cup and there would still be criticism.

If anything proved that goals does not equal great player in international football its that list there
Fair play to him for beating what's infront of him but I don't see it as a particularly great achievement given who we play in qualifying and his pathetic record in tournament football

Patriotism is dying, Greece, Spain, Corn Islands, Fiji, Timbucktoo, who cares, if you're good at what you do, you gain admirers.

I think with Rooney on the England stage many are frustrated with him because he has failed to make any real significant impact on a major tournament since 2004.

Either way to get 50 goals is a great achievement and that will only increase in the next few years.

I do think Rooney's best position is as a deep forward or a type of Lampard sort of player now. I don't think he has the pace or power to lead the line like he once did and with someone like Harry Kane coming through - like Ian Wright said - his quality can't be on the bench for much longer.

Record to be proud of, basically scoring a lot against cannon fodder and the B team in the group, and only manages to score against big teams when nobody cares and they aren't really trying. 4 goals against teams you'd go "oh...cool", all in friendlies, the other 46, when he's easily in the bigger team, give him Uruguay, maybe Russia and a couple of the Croatian, but otherwise, it's like your top scorer for the season at City being someone with 5 league goals but managing 15 in the League Cup, when all the ties happened to be League 1 and League 2 opposition.
