Denis Law debut. 1960. Away kit colour !

Just watched a clip on youtube of Denis Laws debut for City away at Leeds United in 1960.

As City are coming out of the tunnel the commentator says we are wearing OLD GOLD shirts and BLACK shorts.
Never knew we wore these colours before. Do any of our elders remember this ?

I noticed though that nothing changes – they mentioned Law's transfer fee at every possible opportunity!

I think in those days Leeds shirts were yellow and blue halves, so i would not have thought City would be playing in gold.
Don Revie changed their strip to all white a la Real Madrid in 1961 or 62.
City's usual away colour at that time was maroon.

Thought our first ever game in yellow was the week after the 5-1 when I watched us being guffed at Arsenal.
