Moving Stadiums

Wembley held three domestic games a season and then later 3 play off games too, mostly to different teams each time - all one off final games in front of 100,000 (reduced to 90,000 seats) so can't be compared to the experience of one club and their fans playing there every other week.

It's a fair point, but even with England games, of all the (quite reasonable) criticisms of the place, that it had a track around it with all that entails isn't one I really recall as being a focus.

Moving from Maine Road was heart breaking, I still remember the scenes of our last game vs Southampton, the atmosphere was staggering, then the tears at the end as well...

It would have been great to just see 1 major trophy being lifted there before we left, but the times we are in now wouldn't have existed, as the Etihad stadium is what attracted Mansour to the club, as it had room for development round the ground. Maine Road was shrouded by a council estate, and left very little for expansion and development.
The pain of not being at Maine Road is less to bear now, and it does soften after each passing year.
