Sergio Aguero to announce his retirement (pg51)

Putting the evidence together, he suffered a heart arrhythmia and chest pain whilst exerting himself. The pictures show him lying on the pitch holding onto his chest. This looks to me like a cardiac issue, not a panic attack. In this day of covid, the first thing that one would have to worry...

    Kylian Mbappé

Mbappe is 22, scoring in the WC final to win the trophy, as a teenager. Anyone who doesn't want this lad needs his head examining.

It's how totalitarian agencies operate, bury bad news.

    Nathan Ake

Any one else concerned that he's not over 6ft. We are a small team and need a big bugger at the back.

    Matthijs de Ligt

Went to Juve owing to their pedigree producing world class defenders. On the bench last 5 games. Unhappy with Sarri. Schooled in total football. Captain material. We are missing leadership at the back since Vinny left. He would be a perfect fit. Toxic agent though.

    Injury Updates

Let's not blow this out of proportion. There's no indication that he has torn the lateral and medial menisci. Menisci can't be replaced. If it's bone on bone (which it isn't) he won't be playing football again. He will have had keyhole surgery to trim the cartilage, leaving as much as possible...

    Injury Updates

The statement is a little confusing as the meniscus is usually referred to as cartilage as in "torn cartilage". The surgeon might mean the chondral cartilage, which is the harder lining of the joint, has been injured and this could be more serious, depending on the extent. With luck it is just...

    Alexis Sanchez

If you were Ronaldo, seeing the amount of cash thrown at Sanchez, perhaps decide that you fancied a final bumper pay day. It's where you go to top up your pension innit? Boneyard United.

    Nailed it.

    Gabriel Jesus return from injury

He's young and a fast healer. He came back quicker than expected from his metatarsal fracture. 6 weeks tops. I'm predicting on the bench for Leicester and fully fit for start of CL games.

    Palace (A) Post Match Thread

KDB will be OK. You always fear an ACL but he wouldn't be walking after the game and there was no swelling. He could probably do with a few weeks rest and come back for the CL. Jesus I'm not sure about.

    Jonny Evans

We are going to score so many goals this season with the signings that the CBs will just need to be solid and dependable. Jonny Evans is no world beater but experienced enough that he won't stuff up like Stones is prone to. A good stop gap for us whilst Stones matures into a future City stalwart.

Gabriel Jesus back in training (page 77)

By deduction dear Holmes. Of course I haven't seen his medical file (did you really think I had?) but it's such a typical presentation for this injury. As I said, if it had been any other metatarsal, they wouldn't have operated (example- Wayne Rooney fractured 4th). Let's face it, I nailed (!!)...

If you read my post from yesterday, you will find that I got this one right. Can't win em all.

Gabriel Jesus back in training (page 77)

Don't need to mate, it's a classic presentation. No challenge- rolled ankle- fracture. If it were another metatarsal or shaft fracture there's no way they would operate. The only reason they have is because these fractures often don't knit. They can't take the chance that an expensive asset sits...

Gabriel Jesus back in training (page 77)

For all the pseudo-doctors out there, he has a fracture to the base of the 5th Metatarsal (a fracture is the same as a break). It's an inversion injury- foot rolls in, which is why people often think it's a sprained ankle. It isn't a stress fracture. Hopefully that's cleared up now. As I said in...

Gabriel Jesus back in training (page 77)

I would be very surprised if it has already been done as the swelling needs to settle and he would not have been walking around so soon. Timescales for recovery after surgery...realistically 12 weeks. They aren't going to rush him. Will probably fly back to Brazil to recover.
