Struggling to think of a plausible explanation as to why he'd get a longer break when he would have to self isolate for 10 days on top of that whenever he does end up coming back.I suppose it’s possible Pep has given him a longer break than others but it certainly doesn’t look great to not show up when your National teammates have.
Regarding the optics - it only looks bad if it comes to light that he's simply refused to show up. IMO chances of that are slim - a deal is probably in the works somewhere, somehow. We'll find out soon surely.
Doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would just not show up.
Footballers are people too and maybe he's got something going on in his personal life, or picked up an injury, or is working to get his mental health straightened away, etc. Maybe they gave him some time to get away and figure out whether he wants to leave or not.

He drove past me on Ashton old road today and was coming from the CFA direction, I immediately assumed he had been to training but no images on social media so maybe had a meeting on future but doesnt look good :(I suppose it’s possible Pep has given him a longer break than others but it certainly doesn’t look great to not show up when your National teammates have.

Looks highly suspect that cancelo and Dias are back and he isn't.
Most of his work is done further back. He covers every blade of grass covering or backing up everybody behind him when they need help, he's the one that does all the running when Rodri decides he's stuck in a 5 metre square he can't move from. he's the one when the opposition press high that receives the ball under intense pressure and wriggles his way out of it creating the space for us to play our game in the opponents half for most of the game, he's the one who links with our forwards and gets them the ball which is no easy thing to do with a slow buildup and an opposition who want to only defend, Bernardo is critical to the way we play there's nobody else in the squad that can do what he does for us.
A lack of eye catching numbers doesn't mean he's a jack of all trades master of none. When he's played right wing in the past, his role was to create and get assists, and he did that, when he's played centrally I don't understand why many people still expect the numbers he put up as a winger when it's clear to see he's asked to do an entirely different role. It's a role that goes largely under appreciated but its glaringly obvious what he brings to the side when he's not there.Don't think that's the only problem. At some point he became a jack of all trades and master of none. I don't know how that happened because he used to be great at everything. Whether on the wing or in the middle he's stopped regularly getting goals and assists, while players like Gundogan and Mahrez show that it's very possible to be productive from those positions.

Hope Bernie isn’t the ‘one’ a so called ITK was declaring the other day had a drinking problem.
He’s an absolute fan favourite legend partly down to his dislike of the Scousers.
