Advice for Parking at the Apollo?

Have parked at the Apollo car park in the past for gigs, off to Dynamo tomorrow.

Wondered if anyone had any advice on where's best to park. Might be there a bit early before Apollo is manned and don't really wanna leave the car then buggar off for some food in town.

Any recommendations of where to park and where to eat within walking distance (for women)?

I always used to park on Ardwick Green North, by the Church Inn - last I heard it was closed, but that was a few years ago. Great place if there early and you can get out easily afterwards too.

We used to park on that pub's car park if driving to gigs at the Apollo. Manager was fine as we went in the pub before or after the gig. Sadly closed now.

Used to see loads of cars with smashed windows and vandalised all along the road from the pub to the theatre, so avoid street parking if you value your car.

We now try not to drive to gigs (drinks in town and jump in a black cab) but if have to, go on the car park opposite the Apollo ... first exit on the roundabout coming from town, then immediate right in to side street and then the car park. About £7, but worth it, as supervised.
