Exactly measured not desperate, United are looking mighty desperate to sign a player all but publicly stated he wanted to come to City. Recent quotes being fed to the press such as this one aren't fooling anyone:

Makes the summer more interesting for us if he goes to the rags, we will strengthen that's a certainty and short of an utter disaster whoever comes will be coming to the Champions of English football.

As said before, Pep wants players that are commited to us for the future, not just to sell shirts and look good. We didn't need him and couldn't have guaranteed him a game every match but yes, he would have looked good.

Not sure VVD ever wanted to be a blue but I get your point....we seem to walk away when valuation goes above what we wanted to pay! With players moving for 100mil plus, and a list of teams wanting to fight over the top players. There is always going to be a PSG or Rags team that will do whatever it takes to get their man, which is going to mean we miss out on a VVD, Alves and Sanchez....It seems clear that Sanchez was our plan A and after the amount of time and planning we seem to put into this deal, it would suggest we felt Sanchez was head and shoulders above other options, walking away now seems strange move...Our plan B for Alves (Danilo) didnt work out very well so far so I hope our plan B for Sanchez has better results....
That's assuming there is a plan B?

mmmmm.... he said he was on his way up to us in an helicopter

He did not say that. People did based on a picture of one. Those are a game. When he posts what he hears in words that is what I listen to and whilst things can and do change it is obvious he has some finger on the pulse which can be enlightening if you do not get carried away assuming it is exactly what will happen.

Well that's that then. We better hope Aguero and Jesus both stay fit AND find some form for the rest of the season.

You've said this many times and not answered the question I asked each time.

The difference in wages over a three year contract would mean handing him a £30 million signing on fee.

£30 million signing on fee. Do you think we should pay that ?
It’s the first time I’ve seen you ask this question. He’s a 100 million pound player so yeah, we should. The numbers in football are ridiculous anyway, Milner got around 10 million is sanchez not worth 3 times as much?

Would be funny if the rags had to give us a guard of honour with him in the team.

Glad we've pulled out since he's not 100% committed, there are players out there that will be.
We'd have to be 19 points clear within 10 games, think we'd have to go on a pretty damn good run to make that a reality now

What's all this not committed 100% stuff. If another team comes in for you and a massive pay rise you'd consider it no? Not every player that moves only has one option their heart is set on?

Can’t say I’m that arsed. We have lots of young players and Sterling/Sane would have had less game time. There are plenty of other young talented players who want to work with Pep and City. Look at the table, breathe and move on
