Struggling to see where Tolmie's video fits this news. Nobody is going to turn that kind of money down at 29 whoever you really want to play for.
He only has two or three years left at the top of any pay system. He likely has to take that into account.
But will we get briefed that United HAD to up it so far to get him from waiting for City?
Otherwise if he took less the other day when everyone thought that was huge why need to offer more to seal the deal?
Perhaps he really was wavering all week and United had to just up the ante to get him.
Or he really is stringing them along to turn down the biggest deal in football history....
Sadly, I think that is as likely now as us paying him such ludicrous money.
But if it were true and he declined for less then boy would he earn respect in the world.
That kind of thing rarely happens in the real world however.
