Not been for about 30 odd years and then it was to the old airport and didn't venture into the city
Fancy going for about 3 days with the Mrs end of September, flights are not a bad price and was thinking of just flying then looking for a middle range hotel when we get there as i believe there are hundreds of them all offering good prices
Is this a good idea or should we book a hotel before hand, some i have looked at are a bit pricey and think we will get a better deal just playing it by ear
Anybody been lately?

I'v checked them all, quite pricey for 3 days, looks like Nicos and friends want to make a killing before Merkel pulls the plug and tourism crashes and burns

You could have a week on an island for the price of 3 nights in Athens.

Rhodes is lovely in September and dirt cheap.

I know i'v price compared but Athens is on my bucket list Parthenon and all that, i might change my mind yet though and go to one of the islands, not been to Greece for ages last time was when Benitses was raving on Corfu
