What's the shopping like ????
Come on Ali, don't lower the tone ;-)

Its not that bad a question. I need to find somewhere near to shops and bars. So the missus can go shopping whilst I wait for her in a bar

I can get leathered any day of the week in Manchester (not that I drink much ) but I can't get a nice Spanish leather handbag !! so I want to see the sights and the shops ;o)

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/shopping/el-corte-ingles-barcelona.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/ ... elona.html</a> right in the city centre and loads of bars around, also expect City to take over the square outside where the police should let everyone drink a few cans if no disturbances.

I remember Celtic there a few years ago

<a class="postlink" href="http://p.twimg.com/A55mJM3CIAAKbhK.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://p.twimg.com/A55mJM3CIAAKbhK.jpg</a>

The main three places to drink in or around Las Ramblas are:

1. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com/valleygirlblog/wp-content/uploads/placacatalunya.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com ... alunya.jpg</a> at the top of Las Ramblas. You can buy cans in all the supermarkets and drink them around here. Police rarely move people from here so it's a cheap days drinking.

2. <a class="postlink" href="http://ajt.iki.fi/travel/spain/aut_7156.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ajt.iki.fi/travel/spain/aut_7156.jpg</a> Placa Reia: A load of nice places to sit outside and drink a few beers and eat decent food. A lot more relaxed than placacatalunya but obviously way more expensive

3. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.pflaherty.com/home.php?ciudad=barcelona&lan=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.pflaherty.com/home.php?ciuda ... ona&lan=en</a> is just off las ramblas and a 2 minute walk from the Place Reia. It's a typical Irish pub but it has a big square outside where you can booze away. Just as expensive as Placa Reia but not as nice.

All are on the same metro line and very easy to get to and from the stadium, probably buy your tickets early in the day to beat the queue.

There aren't many bars close to the stadium but a few tapas ones that are really good fun if you want to mingle with the locals a couple of hours before the game. Beer here is generally cheaper and Barca fans are normally good fun.

My plan is to take take in the 3 as a 10-15 min walk will cover them all.

I'm well up for this now. I think we'll head to the square as that seems to be the plan for a lot of fellow blues.

Me and my old fella went to the friendly in 2009 and had a mint couple of days. We all ended up on the beach on the day of the game and just got wellied on a load of cans from the Spar round the corner.

Can anyone else who was there help me out, am I imagining things or were we singing the Adebayor song to a lad who was walking past and he started doing flick ups in the middle of us all?!!! Like I say, mint few days were had!

Question.

Anyone.

Area off the tourist map that is good for bars and cheaper.

Fancy geting lost in Barcelona and finding some hidden gem bars frequented by locals, with music, etc, to boot.

A bit like our Northern Quarter before it became commercialized.

We are heading to El Born. My mate is also taking us to a tapas place called "sensi" which he reckons is the best in the city.

we are staying in Tarragona o n the coast Sunday to Sunday its near salou any body else staying in that area ?staying in Barcelona the night of the match

I stayed in Tarragona a couple of years ago and really liked the place. There was a nice restaraunt in placa de la font and a few (including a great steak place) on Rambla Nova. I don't envy your walk up the hill from the train station mate.
thanks for that ,we have booked on the shuttle bus from barca airport £20 each return we get there sunday afternoon are there any bars that show football hoping city will be on (fucking bt sports)

I`ve been told to find that "sensi" but theres supposed to be 2 quite close together. One doing Tapas and one like a grill sort of place.

OK

The bars on or just off the La Rambla are a rip off. Trust me lads . PLease

head to an area called paral·lel /map to be posted* ( its very near ) also from here its very easy to get to the station of Les corts near camp nou ) Bars around there will be 1.50 estrella / 1.2 san meiguel

for 330ml estrella and 2.50 a pint. Tapas in the form of Patatas bravas 1euro to 3 for a big plate,

if you want cheap beer please dont go to the irish bars... look for normal local ones.. most these days been taken over by asiasins and chiense they tend to also give you free food depends were you are ...

more to come 1

We are staying and drinking near paral -lel , the designated away pub brigade on here will not listen and head straight for the Irish bars and every rip off shit hole on the Ramblas.

If youre staying at `parellel there bars on this street

95 carer Vila i Vila ... most bars on this small strip charge the same

https://maps.google.es/maps?q=nou+d...=es&ei=qfIZU4mxO8PG7Abdy4CYAw&ved=0CDIQ8gEwAQ

charge 1.5 a bottle for having it on the terrace plenty of shops near by to get carry outs. 2.5 for half a litre (dont do pints here )

There is the metro stop of parrelel right next to it and it will take you to Les Corts of which I think is the designated station.

watch out for the pickpokets in Barcelona they will pretend to join our songs / dances and be off with everything before you know it.

ESPICALLY ON THE LA RAMBLA AFTER THE GAME the prositutes mostly afriacan will be in your pants whilst robbing you.

I would just advise to steer away from the place period yes its in the center.. thats all..

If you can leave passports at your hotels and carry a photo copy of it or a drivers license.

Police are cunts here you better of shutting up if they ask you too otherwise what happend in Madrid will seem like a spanking a nursery.

This is the Tapas place.

Fucking love all these eating and drinking places being mentioned on here, I'm about 10/15 minutes away from each one. Me and me mates might just piss in a few sinks, use the 'M' word in every sentence and tell some Catalonia copper we've roasted their daughter.
