The plural of hoof is hooves.

The plural of octopus is octopodes, so shouldn’t it be beefodes.

I would say that would be division of a single beef. Like if you cut somebody's arms off, they don't suddenly become 'people'.

Now if you had the need of multiple cows worth, then we're probably talking about beeves.
